Congratulations to our 2025 winners! Singing River Disc Golf and Marion County Disc Golf Club are on top...they'll go for the repeat in 2026!

The Cypress Creek Cup 2025 saw more than 70 professional and amateur disc golfers battle across two days of disc golf. Singles, Collegiate Doubles, sanctioned, unsanctioned...this event has a little bit of everything for everyone.

And it was all for a great cause.

As of this writing, the tournament raised $4,154 for the Tim Tebow Foundation, our 2025 target charity. This brings our 3-year event total of fundraising to more than $24,000. I'm somewhat blown away by the support of so many friends and the community at large. Thank you to everyone who has had a part in this. I'll start by thanking our sponsors including:

Thanks to the disc golf community who have supported this event since 2023. Many of you come from out of town to visit the Shoals and that is noticed. Whether you came out for the PDGA Flex or were part of a team battling for a trophy...I know there are a lot of events you could attend, but we appreciate that you chose this one. If this was your first time playing at the Club On Cypress or McFarland Park, please leave some UDisc reviews to let the wider community know how much fun those courses are.

Speaking of the courses, City of Florence, Alabama - Government Parks & Rec had the Club On Cypress looking as good as any course in the state. Permanent OB lines, freshly mulched beds, manicured greens...you name it, they did it. Thank you for supporting the game of disc golf.

Cypress Creek Cup 2025 has come to a close and we had an epic battle in Pool B with a dominant win in Pool A.

Winning their first Cypress Creek Cup title, Singing River Disc Golf was able to defend home turf winning by an impressive 8 strokes. Team members Lucas Pierce, Brandon Brown, Logan Conner, and Tanner Traglia erased a 2 stroke deficit after the Collegiate Doubles round and won by an impressive 12-stroke margin.

In Pool B, Marion County Disc Golf Club came wearing nice threads and took down Singing River Disc Golf Lite by just 3 strokes. Lawrence County Disc Club came in 3rd 4 strokes back. In the end Chase Garcia, Kevin Chavez, Collin Purser, and Tony Stephens were too good to beat.

Weather appears to be cooperating today. So Pool B will still be at McFarland Park. We will tee off at 9. Trophy presentation to be at the Club on Cypress after both Pool A and Pool B finish.

Well the first round is in the books for Cypress Creek Cup 2025.

Pool A is a total toss up with 2 strokes separating all three entrants.

On the Pool B side things are equally tight as LCDC and Swooty & the Gang are tied for first place. However the top 7 squads are all within 3 strokes of each other.

The second round will be exciting as the Pool A entrants battle the Club on Cypress Blue Layout while Pool B transitions to the Mixed Layout at McFarland Park. The cards will be sent via email in a moment while the leaderboard details are below.

The weather forecast has improved for Saturday. Based on current forecast, the chance for rain has dipped to 40% with the 3PM - 6PM being the highest chance of light rain. The morning Singles event should not be impacted based on the forecast. We'd love to have you out for a $10 rated round benefiting a great charity in the Tim Tebow Foundation. If the rain Saturday night into Sunday morning is heavy we may move Pool B to the Club on Sunday. We also may delay the start time of Sunday depending on the weather.

Back for another run to hoist the Cypress Creek Cup in victory are the Cullman Disc Club who submitted the following team members who average an impressive 940 rating:

Austin Reid ( #82334): This DG OG has played in 155 PDGA tournaments since 2016 winning 21 of the events with over $5k in winnings. Having his name on the Cypress Creek Cup would be a nice addition to an already strong career. Austin sports a 952 rating.

Blake Black ( #203075): Mr. Black has 46 career PDGA events with an average rating of 923. Blake's resume also includes a victory at the 2022 McFarland Park Open.

Eric Murphree II ( #822201): With 70 career PDGA events, Eric is maintains a 920 rating. The Cypress Creek Cup 2025 welcomes back Eric for another chance at glory.

Matthew Howell ( #227828): With a strong 963 rating, Mr. Howell is the high water mark amongst the Cullman team. Matthew has 4 wins in 17 events including an MA1 win at the 2024 NADGT event at Mastin Lake.

The Cypress Creek Cup 2025 has another Team announcement this morning! Joining us from Mississippi we have Team Disc And That (Team DAT) with an average rating of 880! Let's do a quick rundown of the Team DAT members:

Elijah Lindley ( #180668): Hailing from Tupelo, this 889-rate player has 4 wins in 91 career events all coming in the MA2 division.

Jay Hawkings ( #254420): Jay maintains an 853 rating including 2 wins in 17 PDGA sanctioned events including a win at the Mississippi Blues event in 2024 at Trace/Old Warrior (one of Mississippi's premier courses).

Jonathan Greer ( #240209): Mr. Greer boasts an 883-rating while winning 5 events out of his 46 career entries. His wins have come in the MA2, MA3 and MA40 divisions.

Matthew Brown (+194850): Rounding out Team DAT is Matthew who holds a rating of 895. Matthew has 59 career events of which he has won 4 including a B tier victory at the Tupelo Fall Classic in 2022.

Another night, another team announcement for the Cypress Creek Cup 2025. Tonight we are proud to announce Marion County Disc Golf Club whose average team rating is 911:

Chase Garcia ( #145686)--Since 2020, Chase has played in 63 PDGA-sanctioned events including 4 wins with the most recent victory coming in the 2024 Jasper Freeze in MA2. Chase is 928-rated.

Collin Purser ( #243938)--Collin has played in 27 events winning 3 including an MPO win at the Fling In The New Year event in Starkville, MS. Collin sports an impressive 947 rating.

Kevin Chavez ( #251839)--Mr. Chavez is no stranger to the Club on Cypress having placed in the top 4 in the first two installments of the River Riot in MA4. Kevin has played in 25 PDGA-sanctioned events with a win in a Tuscaloosa flex while boasting an 858-rating.

Tony Stephens (no PDGA #)--Hailing from parts unknown, not much is known about Tony Stephens. We'll find out more this weekend!
