I’m excited to introduce myself — my name is Mason Gallo (they/them/theirs), and I’m honored to serve as Co-Chair of the Equality Caucus of Genesee County.
I’m a proud Flint native and work in a leadership role at Kettering University supporting student connection, growth, and belonging. My advocacy journey began in the late ’90s as an HIV/AIDS peer educator in Flint schools and has grown into work focused on LGBTQ+ leadership, workplace inclusion, and statewide advocacy.
While living in Florida, I partnered with Equality Florida on initiatives supporting marriage equality, long-term safety planning through the TransAction program, and helped employers build Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
Community, visibility, and connection are at the heart of everything I do, and I’m excited to continue building spaces of support here in Genesee County alongside incredible leaders.

🌱Meet our Facilitator for March🌱

🌈Christine Berry is a Flint-based artist, activist, and community march leader who believes people deserve spaces where they can feel their feelings and not have to tone them down.

She has a background teaching children’s art and now leads paint and craft classes focused on expression over perfection. Her creative spaces are about honesty, release, and letting people make something real out of whatever they’re carrying.

Outside of art, Christina is deeply involved in activism and has helped organize and lead marches at our capital and throughout the state, with a focus on safety, accessibility, and making sure people feel supported while using their voices. She’s known for being calm under pressure, direct when needed, and committed to protecting the people around her. Whether that’s in the street during a march or around a table covered in paint and craft supplies.

📣Craft your rage is exactly what it sounds like: a space to process anger and frustration about the current political climate without judgment or having to package it nicely.

💕This night is specifically for the LGBTQIA+ community who are feeling the weight of what’s happening right now and want somewhere to put that negative energy. Participants are encouraged to bring their own supplies and work in whatever medium speaks to them, such as painting, collage, fiber art, writing, or anything else that helps get it out.

💗Christina believes rage doesn’t have to be destructive to be valid. Sometimes it just needs a table, some art supplies, and a room full of people who get it.

🌟 About Out of Line Collective
We’re a grassroots, volunteer-run group dedicated to creating creative, intergenerational spaces for q***r and trans folks. We believe in direct support, collective empowerment, and community-led care—not nonprofits or systems that dilute our work. We do this through shared experiences, emotional reflection, and joy-filled connection.

💕RSVP LINK WILL BE IN THE COMMENTS💕

Help Us Grow!

Together, we are stronger.

Out of Line Collective is looking for experienced group facilitators and artists to join our growing, grassroots community. We are a volunteer-driven collective creating intergenerational, creative spaces for Q***r and Trans folks.

We host monthly meet-ups and are building a rotating team of facilitators and artists, so each volunteer only commits once every 2–4 months. This model not only shares the workload but also intentionally incorporates many voices from our community, allowing for diversity across topics, practices, and creative experiences, which is deeply important to us.

What We Do:
We foster community care and resource-sharing through reflective, restorative, and creative practices that support self-awareness, emotional resilience, and deeper connection.

A Note on Structure:
We are not a 501(c)(3), and no one profits from this work. We intentionally operate outside traditional nonprofit systems to remain grassroots, community-led, and accountable to those we serve.

How You Can Support:
💜 Facilitate discussions or activities on a rotating basis
🎨 Lead art-based experiences that support identity exploration and creative expression
**Sponsor or host a meet-up by donating snacks, supplies, or space
**Share this post to help us reach others who may want to get involved

🙏 Deep gratitude to our 2025 volunteers, whose leadership made possible a plethora of topics, perspectives, and experiences that truly shaped our gatherings.

Interested or know someone who might be?
Message me here or email [email protected]

By sharing leadership, welcoming many voices, and rotating responsibility, we keep this collective strong, so no one carries the burden alone.

✨ Happy New Year, community ✨

With everything happening in the world right now, it feels more important than ever to come together, unplug, and feel safe in community.

Out of Line Collective meet-ups return this February!

February gatherings are all about self-love, connection, and care. Link to RSVP will be shared in the comments, where you’ll also find more in-depth details about each session.

Note: This event is held at a private residence. We have a sweet Boxer dog and a small cat. Please consider allergies or fears.

Meet our Facilitator for February:

Stefanie Lynn (she/her/hers) was born in Flint and raised between Flint and Grand Blanc. Stefanie describes her upbringing simply as “growing up in Flint.” Having lived there throughout adulthood, she continues to grow both personally and professionally. She is deeply committed to strengthening small businesses, supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, and contributing to a thriving Southside.

A mother of two, Noah and Lucy, Stefanie treasures time with them whenever possible. When not working with 81OHM Massage Co., Willows Smoothie and Juice Bar, or collaborating with groups like the Neighborhood Engagement Hub, LatinX Luncheon Committee, Equality Caucus of Flint & Genesee, and Out of Line Collective, she enjoys time with her partner, fur babies, thrifting, and exploring coffee shops. She plans to attend Mott Community College, continuing her community-driven journey, which is rooted in the city that shaped her.

Join us on Tuesday, December 9, anytime between 6:00 and 9:00 PM, for our December Q***r Creative Meet-Up.

We’ll also be celebrating one year of Flint LGBTQ+ Support Group meet-ups, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

This December, the meet-up will feature a body-doubling session (also known as tandem or parallel working). Bring a project you’re working on or hoping to start.

Please bring a snack to share. Cake and coffee will be provided.

And if you don’t have a project or don’t feel like starting one, that’s completely okay. Just come, be present, and spend time with others in the community. We’ll also have coloring pages and collage materials available for anyone who wants them.

Let’s wrap up the year together with community, creativity, and good company.

RSVP at the link in the comments below and obtain additional details.

We hope to see you there.
