The Flagstaff to Grand Canyon Stagecoach Line 100 Mile Ultra and Relay is a 100-mile race that will follow the old stagecoach route from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon (Tusayan, AZ). Runners will exit the Hotshots Camp to the north and connect with the Ariz
ona Trail on an old logging road. The route will follow the Arizona Trail to Aspen Corner where it will make a turn to the west, pass Alfa Fia Tank, and downhill to Forest Road 151. This detour from the Arizona Trail will allow runners to experience The Nature Conservancy (Hart Prairie Preserve) and act as the first aid station. Just past The Nature Conservancy the race will turn back to the east and travel up FS627 to Bismarck Lake and connect again with the Arizona Trail. Runners will continue north on the Arizona Trail to Kelly Tank. Kelly Tank will be the second aid station and the first exchange point for relay runners. Radio communication and first aid will be available at Kelly Tank. From Kelly Tank runners will continue north on the Arizona Trail to Cedar Ranch, an aid station. The next exchange point for relay runners will be Tub Ranch at approximately 35 miles. From Tub Ranch runners will continue north on the Arizona Trail to Dirt Tank, which will serve as an aid station. The next exchange point will be 1.8 miles north of Lockwood Tank (at the Kaibab NF, Babbitt Ranch Boundary). Moqui Stage Station will be utilized as the next aid station. Russell Tank, approximately mile 68 on the course, will be a aid station, relay exchange point, and the intermediate cut-off. The cut-off will be at 9:00AM, Sunday, October 20th (19 hours from the start of the event). Runner not through at that time must stop. Radio communication and first aid will be available at Russell Tank. From Russell Tank runners will continue north on the Arizona Trail towards Grandview Lookout, and do an out and back to Hull Cabin (Aid Station #9) on FS Road 307 and then regain and continue on the Arizona Trail to an aid station at Watson Tank and Rd 303. Then into Tusayan, AZ. The finish will be in the parking lot north of the IMAX Theater.
