CALLING ALL KEEPERS OF THE CULTURE!
We’re partnering with Paul Barrett to bring Afrosymbiosis: An Arts and Culture Showcase to our space, and we’re inviting local performers, artists, and small businesses to be part of it!
Afrosymbiosis is about more than just a performance or vendor market. It’s about building community, celebrating culture, supporting local talent, and creating opportunities for artists and entrepreneurs to connect and grow.
We wanted to share Toussaint’s vision with you directly, along with information on how to get involved.
It is a state of being. It is a Harmony of sorts where we are living both in community with one another and in communion with mother Earth. It is the solution for our communities as we continue to fight for our families in this ongoing war against the have-nots. It is a resistance to dominant culture norms of individualism and discrimination. Resistance to the stories told about us that we don’t tell. Afrosymbiosis is us working together. It is a striving and we know for a fact that for any movement, the arts are the vanguard and help to define the cultural values and the dreams of the movement. We deserve to have safe spaces to create, to share, to learn, to trade, to sell, to see and be seen without the threat of violent interruptions. We deserve self determination. And if we do nothing else, let us support each other. Find means and ways of working together for the greater good.
Whether you’re a performer, a vendor, or someone who just wants to be a part of this magic - we’re building something real here.
