The Purpose of the Lowe Park Chalk Art Festival is to bring together the Community, by Connecting them to resources, art, and fun while increasing Pride in the community through connection & engagement.

We were so excited to welcome back the Critical Mass Drummers, a collective dedicated to studying and playing rhythms rooted in West African drum traditions. 🌍❤️Many members have been drumming together for more than 30 years, bringing joy, rhythm, and connection to every performance.This year’s ensemble included:Rodger Osgood • Jeff Lowe • Melinda Morgan • Juan Cruz • Claire Pavlik Purgus • Sarah Huber • Laura JuittTheir drumming has lifted spirits at events like the Chalk Art Festival and the Walk for Hunger, and we are grateful to have them as such an uplifting part of our community celebration. 🎶✨👏 Thank you, Critical Mass Drummers, for bringing the beat, the energy, and the joy!

🌟 Congratulations to our 3rd Place Winner – Jill Marie Strait! 🌟

Jill is no stranger to the Lowe Park Chalk Art Festival, and this year she surprised us all by creating a stunning piece that wasn’t an instrument! 🎨💜 We absolutely loved this artwork, and if it looks familiar, you might recognize it from a local utility box in Northwest Central Mass — that’s Jill’s design too!

Her art is always vibrant, music- and nature-centered, and such a gift to our festival. 🎶🌿 We hope to see Jill back next year continuing to inspire with her creativity.

This was not only Rhea’s first time at the Lowe Park Chalk Art Festival, but also her first time ever creating a drawing with chalk — and she absolutely amazed us all! 🌟🎨

We’re so excited to have had her talent with us last Saturday, and we hope she’ll return next year to create even more magic on the pavement. 🙌

Three years in a row, Melissa shows us just how far chalk art can go. Every time she returns she pushes boundaries, delights the crowd, and inspires younger artists to stretch their imaginations and create beautiful things for the world. It is always a pleasure to have her back.

🎨 About: Rhea Huckaby is an 18 yr old artist who grew up in a creative family. Her medium is drawing and painting. Rhea’s art is about bringing some fun, whimsical light and color to the world, combining some bit of realism with fantasy as well as community and displaying diversity. The main goal is to spread positivity each piece at a time 💜
