The May 2024 Chess Cookout has a new participation record of 24 players. - Congratulations to the Open Section's 1st Place Winners Greg Turner, Vic Wang, & Mike Shuey who ended the event with 3 points each. - Congratulations to Ella Grace Kinney who finished with a perfect 4 points winning the Under 1601 Section. Games from the event will have a separate post as they become available. Thanks to all who took the time to travel and take part in this annual event. Calling all chess players! We have set our next chess BBQ tournament for May 25th, 2024, the last Saturday in May. Details are on the flyer above or at the top of the page. All y'all that didn't play at Brad's BBQ missed out!
In the Sweet n Sour Section Brad Smith himself cooked up 3rd place, while Cameron Wilson and Faron Miller smoked with a 2way tie for first, with Faron gaining 269 ratings points, exiting Provisional! (975P->1244)
In the strong Hot n Spicy Section, Michael Robertson and Liam Hereford turned over 3rd place, and Josiah Hereford basted the competition with 3.5/4 for first!
