It has been a while since we have posted and it was because we really didn’t know what the future looked like and that was before Covid.
A couple years ago Louis started having arthritis symptoms in his hands and his full time job where he uses his hands constantly was making his every day difficult. We decided to take a break and then Covid happened. We thought, “well, we picked a good time to re-examine the future and regroup”. In October we lost Louis’ stepdad who we loved dearly, and his mom is on her own for the first time in thirty years. Louis loves his mama and we aren’t getting any younger so right now our focus is on Louis’ health and family.
We have really enjoyed making jelly for everyone. We loved our time at the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market and the different festivals around town. Jelly has been so rewarding. The kids helped through high school and it truly became a family project. I remember hand cutting the labels for the jars and tying twine for hours when we first started. I was so excited when I finally convinced Louis to print sticky labels and then just stick them on the jar!
The best part was all the people we met. We enjoyed each and every person that stopped by. Louis is a quiet and reserved kind of guy, but the market brought him out of his shell and he really had a good time talking to everyone. He was so proud of the jelly and the BBQ. It was a lot of work but it was worth it. Life is just taking us a different direction right now.
Thanks to everyone for the support over the years!
