We had a blast at our last craft night with Kerianne & tonight we’re back at it — crafting holiday cards together🎄✦ ݁˖

This event supports the , who is collecting cards for those currently detained in Washington + Benton County detention centers. Their goal? Every person receives a holiday card this season. Many are still awaiting their day in court, detained not because they’re convicted, but because bail isn’t accessible.

We’re teaming back up with local artist to create cards for the AJRC card drive. All supplies are provided, & your finished cards will be delivered to AJRC after the event.

As we celebrate Pride month, we’re reflecting on all the ways love, memory, & chosen kinship show up in our community — & how art can help us hold it all. Right now, we’re honored to host The Hearts Project, a deeply moving memorial remembering the Arkansans lost to COVID-19 ❤️‍🩹

Created by artist Monica Moore, the project began in 2020 with her cutting small paper hearts as a way to process the grief of the early pandemic. Inspired by the paper cranes at the Children’s Peace Monument in Japan, folded in meditation + intention to honor those who perished in the attacks on Hiroshima & Nagasaki, Monica envisioned the hearts as a local tribute: one heart to represent each Arkansan lost to COVID-19.

Once this ongoing project is completed, over 13,000 hearts will be represented, handcrafted with help from volunteers across the state. The current work includes thousands of hearts assembled in three large quilt-style panels, each 6’ x 5’, now installed in our upstairs coworking space.

This Sunday from 2–4P, we’re hosting a public reception where you can:

Microplastique is an avant-jazz quartet from Chicago who takes a unique approach to improvised music. Led by composer Adam Shead, along with bandmates Molly Jones, Ben Zucker, & Mabel Kwan, the ensemble focuses on “small, silly sounds,” making use of both traditional & toy instruments. ☞ 𝙎𝙒𝘼𝙋 If you’ve got a lot to share, you can apply for a dedicated trade booth space at no charge.
