Here is some basic info on growing great pumpkins 🎃

Site preparation starts in the fall before with incorporation of organic matter such as leaf litters to establish good soil tilth.

A soil test is recommended in the fall to address issues related to pH and whether soil amendments such as lime or other macronutrients need applied prior to spring planting.

Now that the Great Pumpkin Event of Farmington 2025 is wrapped up, it’s time to start planning for 2026!

Are you interested in growing a great pumpkin? It’s never to early to start planning. We also have some resources to help you be successful in your growing efforts! If you wish to participate in the original class, we will provide you the plant in the spring or you can participate in the open class & purchase your own pumpkin seed.
