While we may be celebrating 25 years this August, LGBTQ+ folks have been living, working, loving, and advocating in our region for far longer. It’s vital that we honor that.

If you haven’t yet heard of the Breaking Barriers: Harvesting LGBTQ Stories from the Northern Plains oral history project, please check it out!!

On June 13, 1984, Fargo Mayor Jon Lindgren’s proclamation of “Gay-Lesbian Pride Week” sparked public debate and protests over the city's recognition of the local LGBTQ community.

Not just a party, but a promise.

Every June our community comes together to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising.

Pride has, and always will be, a protest.

We promise to keep showing up. To take up space in every room and table that seeks to exclude us. To keep building something better.

With 25 historic years behind us, we can’t wait to see what the next 25 will bring.

We’ll see you in August!
