Games Galore Party Rental, FMWF Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year 2019 recipient, is seeking an integral team member to help lead event operations and manage staff. Role includes management of overall event operations and is responsible for event scheduling, labor, time management, inventory and fleet management. Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles with strong communication throughout the process. Must be outgoing, energetic and able to multi-task, have strong organizational skills and look for opportunities to exceed expectations.
The position requires working side by side employees at events. The ideal candidate has worked in a management position in a busy environment, can quickly switch gears to handle a range of duties and is proficient in Microsoft Office. Operations Manager duties and responsibilities:
• Interviewing, hiring, training and scheduling event associates.
• Confirming event routing and scheduling setup and event details, including confirmation reception of signed contract and deposits and final payments.
• Inspiring and motivating employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives
• Warehouse management, keeping up with inventory of equipment, overseeing fleet management, addressing and finding solutions to any equipment issues.
• Overseeing DOT procedural compliance, event paperwork and completion
• Identifying potential problems and utilizing foresight to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency and revenue for each event
• Must be able to shift course in order to take advantage of new customers and events.
Operations Manager skills and qualifications
• "Big picture" thinking, which is key to addressing top-level concerns and finding the best path forward from all of the available data
• Interpersonal skills - an Operations Manager must communicate with both staff employees and event clients in order to create and administer successful events
• Adaptability, enabling the Operations Manager to respond quickly to a shifting reality and adjust initiatives and priorities accordingly
• Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority, which are essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects
• Monitor employee activities and provide guidance where needed
• Encourage a positive work environment and culture for all employees
• Implement safety programs and ensure compliance with all safety policies
• Coordinate staff schedules, training and on-boarding
• Create checks and balances that all compliance forms are completed by employees at the end of each shift
Operations Manager education and training requirements: Applicant must have a minimum of a high school diploma, driver’s license and be 21 years of age or older. Certifications can also be helpful as they demonstrate formal education and knowledge in the areas certified as well as investment in professional development.
