🗣Update from Sam:
Thank you everyone for your help last night and Fallon Barrel Racing - NV for this!
Vince had spent last Thursday-Friday in the hospital with an upper GI bleed from ulcers. On Friday, they cauterized two and put three clips in the big ulcer. He was released Saturday with no restrictions.
Took Sunday and Monday off and easy.
We thought he was doing better but then he started bleeding last night while trying to get the arena ready…
He was pretty much translucent in color and stubborn to want to help the race.
We got him over to Banner where they gave him two units of blood and transferred him to Renown.
He is in Renown’s ICU unit to have extra hands on deck. His hemoglobin was super low at 4.7 and they are worried about how much he’s bleeding.
We are currently waiting for Renown’s GI doctor to scope to see why his bleeding again.
Other than this, we have no information. I will try and keep this updated the best I can for everyone.
We are so very lucky to have the friends and family behind us for all the help with Kathryn, animals, getting cars and stuff home safely and the support last night.
We are super thankful for the barrel racing/horse community showing him so much support. You guys are incredible!
🗣Alright FBR barrel community, we know how awesome you are & show up for our races, & now we are asking you to show up for Vince our #1 “tractor guy”. He’s the guy at all our races & does an awesome job at keeping our ground good/safe.
If you can help out Vince/The Ugalde Family while he is on his road to recovery, any amount big or small would be a big help! We would appreciate if you could show him some support!
You can Venmo them directly at
