Fairmont State University SAE Falcon Racing Team The Falcon Baja Race Team at Fairmont State University is an extracurricular activity and is open to all Fairmont State University.

The SAE Falcon Race Team is part of the College of Science and Technology at Fairmont State University. Our purpose is to bring together people that have an interest in mechanical engineering, design, and the sport of motor racing. Each year we design, build, and race a mini Baja race car as part of the SAE Collegiate Design Series competitions. The object of the competitions is to provide student

s with a challenging project that involves the design, planning, and manufacturing tasks found when introducing a new product to the consumer marketplace. As a team, we create a vehicle within specified rules, obtain financial support, and manage our educational priorities to take what is learned in the classroom and put it to a practical application. The SAE Falcon Race Team is a rewarding experience to both faculty and students. Teamwork, leadership, communication skills, and design are fostered among our group.
