Let's hear it for our Public Works crews! 💙

While Fairhope was fortunate to avoid the worst of Hurricane Isaias, our city still felt its effects. Since the storm, our Public Works employees have been working long, demanding days clearing fallen limbs, picking up debris piles, and getting Fairhope back in shape.

Storm recovery doesn't end when the storm passes. Our crews have already made tremendous progress, but there is still plenty of work to be done.

We want our Public Works employees to know that their hard work has not gone unnoticed. We see the long hours, effort, and dedication they bring to their jobs, and we are incredibly grateful for all they do.

If you see these crews out working, give them a wave or a thank you. They've certainly earned it! 👏

We are starting this season by honoring the life of our founding conductor, Joe Reimer.

🌀 Hurricane Isaias: Storm Recovery Update

As Fairhope continues cleaning up after Hurricane Isaias, here's an update on power restoration, storm debris collection and damage reporting.

⚡ Power Restoration

Approximately 1,300 Fairhope Public Utilities customers lost power during the storm. Our electric crews worked to restore service Friday evening before high winds and dangerous conditions forced them to suspend repairs at 5:15 p.m.

Once conditions improved, crews resumed work Saturday morning, clearing fallen trees from power lines, repairing damaged equipment and resetting utility poles.

Most customers had power restored by noon Saturday, with all service restored by 2 p.m.

💧 Water, Wastewater & Natural Gas

Good news! Our water, wastewater and natural gas systems made it through Hurricane Isaias without any reported damage or service interruptions.

🌳 Storm Debris Collection

City of Fairhope Public Works, Electric and Landscape crews will be working from sunup to sundown this week to clear storm debris throughout Fairhope.
Crews are starting with Monday's regular collection route and will work their way through the remaining routes. We appreciate your patience as they make their way across the city!

A few important reminders:
- The normal 2.5-cubic-yard collection limit is waived this week for storm debris.
- There is no limit on the amount of storm debris residents can bring to the City landfill this week.
- If you hire a contractor to cut or remove trees, the contractor is responsible for hauling away that debris.

🏠 Storm Damage Reporting

If your home or another structure on your property sustained damage during Hurricane Isaias, please report it to the City of Fairhope Building Department.

Some damage, especially behind homes, may not be visible to inspectors from the street. Reporting it helps the City get a more complete picture of storm impacts.

Please note: This reporting is for structural damage only, not damaged fences or downed trees, and applies only to properties within Fairhope city limits.

Not sure if you're in city limits? Check your garbage can! A City of Fairhope crest indicates you're within city limits, while a Baldwin County crest indicates you're in the county's jurisdiction.
