We equipped 100 youth watermelon growers with the means to grow their own watermelons at the FBWGA Educational Outreach Program on Saturday. Many thanks to two of sponsors, Dan Strickland with BEMC and Jeff Godwin of Carolina Eastern, for stopping by to give their support.

Kids be sure to follow your helpful tips in the educational brochure and get those 🍉 growing!!!!! We look forward to seeing you with your entries at the Watermelon Festival on July 25th!!!!🍉😊

🍉 It’s Year 3 of Our Educational Outreach Program! 🍉

We’re excited to share our passion for watermelons with the next generation! 🌱 This year, kids can pick up their Watermelon Grower’s Boxes during BBQ on the Bluff on April 25th.

The FBWGA Educational Outreach Program donates ‘Watermelon Growers Boxes’ complete with juvenile watermelon plants, fertilizer, growing instructions, and contest information to future watermelon growers 17 years of age and younger. By encouraging the youth in the community we are further nurturing the roots of our farming history and the promise of a prosperous agricultural future.

📍 Location: Riverside Drive, Fair Bluff

🎁 Each box is packed with everything young growers need to plant, care for, and learn about watermelons.

Watermelon drop off is from 7:30-9:00am off of Main Street at the white tent whether you registered online or are registering in-person tomorrow morning.

Watermelon contests registration and melon drop-off, Saturday, July 26th from 7:30 - 9:00 a. m. on Main Street (sidewalk side) in Fair Bluff.
Look for the large white tent.🍉 Bring your own chair and enjoy the shade of the hospitality tent, sponsored by RES (Resource Environmental Solutions).
