Dear Civic family and friends,

I apologize for the quiet on my end lately. It feels like just yesterday the building was bustling—the smell of harvest, the energy of the wine club, and those big parties spilling out into the wine garden. I can still see Mel and the rest of the team whipping together mini-bottles and baguettes for our virtual tastings during COVID. Those were crazy times, but I cherish them deeply.

The Next Chapter
Within the next few weeks, a new operation will be taking over the Civic space. While I can’t share all the details just yet, I am feeling both excited and emotional about this transition.

The Final Inventory
Before I hand over the keys, I have one mission left: finding a home for my final remaining cases. These wines have been tucked away in my temperature-controlled cellar, aging beautifully. This is officially the last of the Civic stock.

To keep things simple, I am only selling by the case at a special 30% discount (applied at checkout):

2023 Civic Amphora Pet-Nat (86 cases remaining)

2021 Civic Amphora Gamay Noir (Just 11 cases left!)

2021 Civic Amphora Dolcetto Novello Red (Just 18 cases left!)

Note: I also have a few stray bottles of the Amber left—if you’re looking for those, reply to this email directly.

One Last Dance?
I’m tempted to host one final dance party in the space before I go. Should I? Let me know if you’d show up for one last spin on the floor.

Thank you for the years of support, the shared bottles, and the friendship. I’d love to see you one last time when you come down to pick up your cases. Here’s to new beginnings and the adventures ahead.

Cheers,

Craig

Novum have been returned back from whence they came. Thank you Andrew. But not all of them. I will sell some of them and hold on to a few to continue to make wine.

Our last Civic Winegarden Dance Party is tonight! As you all know, I am shutting down the winery and events operation, but will continue to own the building. If you know someone who may be interested in leasing the beautiful 6000 square feet space that includes cold storage, please let me know! There have been a few interested groups that have done tours so we will see if some new local food / drink production and event space will continue here at the building in the back and share it with Lion & Owl/Lemon & Olive.

See you tonight from 6-9! Rocky’s full menu from Osteria DOP and chill vibes from DJ Aaron and lots of cold NA and wine and beer from your friends here at Civic at our outdoor bar.

Come say goodbye to me and Mel (who has started an exciting new job) and the rest of the Civic staff and friends and family.

I really feel grateful for all the love and support from all of you over the years. Wine and events will always be a part of my life.

I may continue to operate and I will keep my winery license and I will do small production wines in the future, so keep an eye out for that.

In the meatime, please purchase some of my wine listed below (online purchase) and we will be selling them at the winegarden party tonight. Can’t make it tonight in person, order online and schedule a pickup next week.

Cheers,
Craig

Wrapping up the end of an era. Looking back as we prepare for our last public event. We hope you will come by on Friday and wish Mel luck on her next adventure. You all know how special she is. Has been with me since day 1. Not a nicer person out there. So fun to work with yet one of the hardest workers you will ever meet. Able to write profound prose then transition to winemaking and then to managing a formal complex event and not miss a beat. The last little bird is flying the coop!
