Scandinavian Midsummer Festival in Estes Park
The 2021 Scandinavian Midsummer Festival in Estes Park will be held the weekend of June 25th - 27th. It is for all ages, is wheelchair accessible, and the admission is free.
The festival is open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, and from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday. Friday & Saturday evenings the Beer Garden will be open from 4 PM until 9 PM.
The Festival takes place in Bond Park, in downtown Estes Park at the intersection of Elkhorn (the main street) and MacGregor Ave.
There are Scandinavian food and craft vendors, and craft demonstrations. Music and dancing - both participatory and performance - run throughout the day. The Fjellborg Vikings have a small encampment and do combat demonstrations, a hit with the youngsters.
There is a Cultural Tent where one can watch Scandinavian handcrafts being demonstrated. Adults and children alike can paint a dala horse and make flower crowns. You can learn how to make lefse at the lefse tent, and purchase some to take home. An entertaining and humorous "fashion show" is put on both days.
