🚧 Curious about the future construction plans for North Lincoln Road in front of the fairgrounds?

Join us on Wednesday to learn what improvements are planned, when construction is expected to begin, and how traffic and access may be impacted throughout the project. Staying informed now will help us prepare for the road ahead! 🚗🦺

Residents, businesses, and community partners are invited to attend an important public information meeting regarding the upcoming North Lincoln Road reconstruction project.

The meeting will be held on WEDNESDAY, June 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Delta County Area Chamber of Commerce.

Representatives from the Michigan Department of Transportation (Michigan Department of Transportation) and DTE Energy will be in attendance to share project details and answer questions regarding construction timelines, utility coordination, traffic impacts, and business access considerations.

This is an excellent opportunity for residents, business owners, and stakeholders to receive accurate, up-to-date information directly from project leaders and to better understand what to expect as this important infrastructure work moves forward.

Community members are encouraged to attend and participate.

Junior Market Swine, Lamb, and Goat DNA samples and YQCA certificates are due May 27th.

Please note: The Delta County Chamber of Commerce will be closed Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day, so plan accordingly.

📌 Reminder:
A hard copy of your YQCA certificate must be submitted with your DNA sample(s).

📬 IMPORTANT – U.S. Postal Service Notice for Postmarked Mail:
To ensure your mail receives the correct mailing date, visit a Postal Service retail location and request a manual (local) postmark at the retail counter when submitting your mail piece. Manual postmarks are applied free of charge.

We appreciate MDARD's continued commitment in supporting youth programs, livestock agriculture, and community connection across the Upper Peninsula and throughout Michigan.

The UP State Fairgrounds isn’t just a summer destination, it’s a year‑round resource hub for agriculture education and the community. ​

While it hosts the hottest summer fair north of the bridge, it also supports hundreds of youth exhibitors, agricultural producers, and families who participate in events throughout the year, including livestock shows, educational clinics, fundraising events, and community gatherings. ​

This May, MDARD awarded the fair a grant to help replace the roof on the beef barn. ​

"This investment will have a direct and lasting impact on the U.P. State Fair and the entire Upper Peninsula region" said Executive Director Vickie Micheau, "We are incredibly grateful to MDARD for recognizing the importance of maintaining agricultural infrastructure in the Upper Peninsula and throughout Michigan."
