The Erie Balloon Festival is a spectacular celebration of flight, family fun, and community.
⛰️📍: Erie, Colorado Erie, Colorado, has a strong tradition of hot air ballooning that started in 1996, and has become a significant part of Erie’s identity. Our annual festival takes place during the second weekend of July and is free to attend. Join us and witness dozens of hot air balloons peacefully ascending into the clear blue skies of Colorado, against the backdrop of the majestic Rocky Mountains.

5:47am - our pilots have concluded their morning weather briefing and it’s a green flag morning, so balloon flights are a go! Balloons will soon begin inflating and taking off for flight.

Tether rides will be on the west end of the field. First come, first serve. $20 cash only.

Sunday, July 12th - It’s morning #3 and the fin morning of the 2”26 Erie Balloon Festival.
🎈Are the balloons going to be inflating and flying?
Each morning our pilots have an official weather briefing on the field to review current weather conditions. It is at this meeting that an official decision regarding flight is determined. With this said, we will have an official flight status update posted here on our page around 6am.

⏰ 5:30am - Field Opens; find the perfect viewing spot and grab a morning treat from on-site food trucks.
📍Weld County Road 5 & Colliers Parkway in Erie, Colorado (just west of Erie High School)
🐝 Shuttles offered with the Erie Bee. Park at Highlands Elementary (475 Highlands Circle) and enjoy a free shuttle ride to the drop off zone at Erie High School (3180 Co Rd 5). Continuous shuttles will run from 5:30-9:30 a.m.
✔️Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket!
🥾 Close-toed shoes are recommended
