Erie Art Fest (formerly Erie Highlands Art Festival), hosted by Art Circle LLC, celebrates local artists, small businesses, live music, and community with vibrant, family-friendly events. Art Circle LLC was born from the passion and resilience of two artists, Kristi Arzola and Peter Buwalda, who aimed to bring their Erie Highlands community together during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pan
demic. In 2020, they launched the Erie Highlands Art Fair, a socially distanced outdoor holiday festival that uplifted spirits and celebrated local talent. The event's resounding success inspired a second installment in 2021, drawing an even larger crowd and solidifying its place in the community's holiday tradition. When Peter stepped away in 2022, Kristi, with the help of dedicated volunteers and artists, took the reins and continued the tradition, transforming the fair into a beloved celebration featuring horse and carriage rides, live music, holiday crafts, and more. By 2023, Kristi partnered with local artist Kayla Eggemeyer, rebranding the event as the Erie Art Fest under the newly established Art Circle LLC. With its largest audience yet, the festival continued to thrive, fostering connections and creativity in Erie and beyond. In 2024, Kristi embraced new opportunities to expand the festival, relocating it to Soaring Heights PK-8 to accommodate its growing popularity. A professional watercolor artist and private art instructor in Erie, CO, Kristi also runs her small business, Fine Art by Kristi Arzola LLC, yet still finds time to lead Art Circle LLC with passion and purpose. Grateful for the artists and volunteers she’s had the pleasure of working alongside over the years, Kristi acknowledges that each one has provided invaluable contributions, without which the event would not be what it is today. Despite the departure of her co-organizers over time, Kristi's unwavering dedication to supporting local artists and small businesses has propelled Art Circle LLC forward. With her vision and experience, she continues to highlight the importance of art in community building by offering free, family-friendly events filled with live music, delicious food trucks, and quality entertainment.
