FAIR Fun Facts:
* Established in 1863, the King County Fair is the Oldest Fair west of the Mississippi
* Abraham Lincoln was President and the Battle of Gettysburg was taking place then
* Originally held in Georgetown before moving to Renton and then Enumclaw
* Moved here from Seattle, three of the main Fair buildings are from the 1962 World’s Fair
* A nonprofit group took over operation of the Fair from the City of Enumclaw in 2015

The early 2000’s

In 2002 the King County Fair welcomed Academy of Country Music Top Female vocalist, Martina McBride to the Main Stage! Other early 2000 performers included Chris Cagle and Blaine Larsen!

Big changes came in 2007 when King County granted the current property to the City of Enumclaw. As part of the agreement the fair was always to be named the King County Fair but it was now operated fully by the City of Enumclaw and Joan Lewis was the fair manager.

Entry Details:

….the 90’s continued….
In 1996 to 1998 the county moved the fair from 5 days to 10 days - the move to 10 days ended up not being a great fit for the fair and it returned to a 6 day event in 1999.

1998 - the Pete’s Pool (football stadium) was used for the first time for a concert during the fair - Pam Tillis performed 🎤
