Congratulations to 2026 Preservation Grant Recipient - SPJST Lodge #25 in Ennis, TX.

After major plumbing system failures, the 1970s SPJST Hall #25 is preparing for a complete overhaul of its women’s restroom. A $10,000 2026 TDHP Preservation Grant will help the lodge move forward with new plumbing, flooring, toilet stall partitions, grab rails, and sink cabinets.

SPJST halls are Czech fraternal organizations that foster fellowship among their members, and Lodge #25 has long been a gathering place for the Ennis community. Each Memorial Day weekend, the lodge hosts its annual three-day Czech Polka Festival, featuring live polka music, traditional food, a downtown parade, and dance contests.

We’re proud to support the continued preservation of this important community gathering place and the traditions it helps keep alive.
