Devil on the Divide 50k/22k 50k/22k Trail Run
Saturday, September 12, 2026
Empire, Colorado
www.devilonthedivideultra.com Participants will reach a top altitude over 13,000 feet.

We are pleased to present one of the most beautiful and challenging trail racing events in the state of Colorado with breathtaking (literally and figuratively) views of Clear Creek County and the Continental Divide. The 50K course climbs over 6500 feet. Due to the difficulty and remoteness of this race, prior ultra running experience is required. The 22K (just a bit over a half-marathon) course fo

llows the first part of the 50K, making it one of the toughest half-marathons in the state, with 3400' of climbing, reaching an altitude of 13,200'. The 22K course is not recommended for novice trail runners. It is a tough course at high altitude.

Race Recap in UltraRunning Magazine! Thank you to our amazing family of runners and volunteers that make this event so special!

As the race director, I’m totally biased, but I truly believe we have something unique and special. And by “we” I mean the volunteers, the runners and the community that make up the Devil on the Divide family.

Pictures, Gratitude, and Love to our Evergreen Neighbors:

A monumental shoutout goes to the heart and soul of this event—the volunteers. Without your dedication and tireless efforts, this race simply wouldn’t be possible. From setting up (and tearing down) the fest tent, to preparing snacks for the aid stations and finish line (special thanks to my mom!), to marking and sweeping the course, to staffing aid stations with smiles and cheers that kept runners moving through the toughest stretches, to serving food, and everything in between—THANK YOU. This event exists because of you.

Love to the Evergreen Community

Yesterday, our neighboring community experienced the unthinkable with a school shooting. Our hearts are with the students—many of whose parents and family members joined us on the start line—along with the staff who volunteered on Saturday and ran alongside us. To the entire Evergreen community, we send our deepest love and support.

And today, on 9/11, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward danger in service of others. It is a reminder of the strength that comes from community—something we are grateful to witness each year through this race.
