A damp, slick night at Big Diamond for sponsored driver Aleia Geisler Racing this weekend. But after the knock-out last week, it was good to get back behind the wheel to get some turns in.

Fifth Street is racing Friday night!

While the Fifth Street RunSpringa series is complete, our racing action moves to our community members. Aleia Geisler runs our 5ks every week, but on Friday night, she's a race car driver. Racing the 358 modified class, these are the big cars for the feature races. Usually, she is the only woman in the race, but she doesn't let that keep her from racing for the front. 2026 marks her return to racing after 1 year off. April 24th was her return for the year, and it was bittersweet. But, as racers, we know that the most important thing is sticking your nose in there and not touching the brakes. She did that, but had an unfortunate boxing-in that resulted in a race-ending crash. But, she's resilient, and she's back for May 8th at Big Diamond Speedway.

Follow along here and at Aleia Geisler Racing!

Kristen Roosa-Beck knows that sometimes to take the top step you have to take a slow step. Or a extra donut at the shortcut 🍩

We loved seeing our RunSpringa overall podium feature two women, with Roosa-Beck taking the title. This marks two podiums in a row for our Fifth Street Series events where women have stood on the steps in the overall run podiums. Take notes, ladies! You can do it if you're willing to play the games, do some math, and risk a reward. Can't wait for the Fall. πŸ₯•

Shortcut expertise by the race leaders Evan Lichtenwalner and Steve Schwarz. How many donuts do you think they ate during the race? Wrong answers only 🍩

5th place for cyclocross at was supposed to be simple. Truly. We thought we knew how it would play out. Not to doubt anyone's ability, but certain placements in the standings were through games, Oracle nights, and other such things.

BUT IT'S FIFTH STREET, AND ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

🌧️ Rain rolled in, and it triggered "Double Double" points because we thought that sounded funny. So, double double points PLUS the shortcut, but we still thought we had this figured out. Owen races hard. Adam tries to keep up. Let's see what happens. Adam crashed on the wooden bridge of death. Owen did not. Owen is also better at donuts, apparently. Ok, we know who won, right?

πŸ’€ We forgot about SCOTT. Scott Effting was in 3rd coming into the night. But, he "had a cold" and didn't ride. But... he was there.... but... (checks math.. checks again...) it's Double Double points and a mini-series like this could mean that you get bumped completely off the podium!

And that's what happened. Scott dropped to 8th place, Owen moved into 4th and Adam Burke became our 5th place champion for Fifth Street Runspringa. πŸ†

The gate has officially closed on our season! 🏁

Tonight’s finale was one for the history books. We started in the rain, finished in the mud, and let the "Double-Double" scoring logic handle the rest. By bumping the CX races to a 4x point multiplier, we guaranteed that nobody’s spot on the leaderboard was safe until the very last lap.

Between the weather and that high-risk shortcut, the final results were full of surprises. Congratulations to our season-long 5th-place winnersβ€”you earned every bit of that glory in the trenches tonight!

Check the full results and the final season totals at the link below.

Week 5 marked the epic finale of RunSpringa! We faced a questionable shortcut, dealt with some wild rain, and scored super points!
