No music. No filler. Just turbo noise, tire, and a track that lets this thing eat.

These test days made one thing clear. Kuhnle is not just another parking lot or a clipped off section of pavement. This place opens up the kind of layout that lets drifting breathe.

In these shots, you can see it. Long paved sweepers, real transitions, room to chase, room to set a fast grid, and space to run tandem without everything feeling boxed in. That is what makes this so different. The property has a long motorsports history, and now we get the chance to bring a new kind of use to it with a road course style approach that is not common around Ohio drift events.

That is the part we are most excited about. This is a different kind of venue, and it gives drifting room to grow.

We did not plan on running events in 2026.

Then motorsports did what motorsports does, a door opened, and we found a place that felt right.

After a couple trips out with cars, a few test runs, and a lot of excitement about what this property could be, we are officially bringing drifting to Kuhnle Motorsports Park on 4/18/2026.

Some of you may remember it as Thompson Dragway. What we are building here is going to feel different from what most of Ohio drifting is used to. We will be running a road course style layout across the property with room for fast grid, tandems, and a flow that brings a whole new energy to the day.

At the same time, we will also have a skid pad going for new drivers, dialing in setups, seat time, and anyone looking to get comfortable behind the wheel.

That means this event is open to all skill levels.

This is a very difficult post for us to make. First and foremost, the Slideways staff would like to express our deepest gratitude to every single one of you who has supported us throughout the years. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and presence made every stressful moment worth it. Without you, none of this would have been possible from the very beginning.

Our mission has always been to give back to the drifting community, and we truly hope we were able to do just that. From the laughs and smiles to the jokes and countless tires burned, this journey has meant everything to us. Slideways began before COVID with a vision to revive drifting in Northeast Ohio, and together we made that vision a reality.

Unfortunately, some good things do come to an end. We had hoped—and genuinely believed—that we could continue drifting in Northeast Ohio through the 2026 season and beyond. However, due to the track’s scheduling as well as changes in our own home lives, this will not be possible. We wish the new track ownership nothing but success in the seasons ahead and hope to see the drifting community continue to grow and thrive.

This is not goodbye—just see you later.
