It is hard to believe that it has been over 5 months since I have written a word on this page and over a year and a half since DDBR has put on a barrel race and yet this page still gets "likes"....to those of you who have liked it and now wonder why I am sorry that you may be disappointed since there's no news or information on upcoming races.
Since there are many of you who still "check in" I have given a lot of thought about using this page for all sorts of "stuff"; sometimes about the Lord - sometimes about politics (both subjects I've heard are supposed to be taboo in general conversation); for those of you who know me you won't be surprised that I have a tendency to go against the grain and can easily go off on a rant without much of a filter....in the meantime I hope y'all are having a great summer and all of your ponies are healthy & happy!

With all that is going on in our world this post might not be the most important thing in the grand scheme of things but....the Lord continues to remind me that you, barrel racers, deserve to hear from me about DDBR and what the heck is going on....long story short; it (and me) have taken a sabbatical....(that word saves me from thinking that I will never produce another barrel race). Producing races is sort of like competing in them; over the years I've put races on - taken a break and started all over again. Hopefully I'm not done because I do enjoy the journey but for the time being, and the foreseeable future, I have no races scheduled. It was a joy to get to know so many of you and wish you all the best in life and running barrels!

WOW!!! 17.494 is a smokin' run in the outdoor pen at Horseshoe Park -- leave it to The Champ, Sherry Cervi to do it! Didn't know who "Harrison" was before today, but I for one will be paying better attention the next time it's his turn.
I'm also really, really glad we were outside 'cuz I'm pretty sure this Desert Rat would have turned into a popsicle under the roof - it was beautiful with the sun shining but not 80 so a little chilly but, hey, the ground was great and the crew at Horseshoe always make it easy to put on a race. Thanks Guys!!
Many thanks also to my own special crew --- family (brother Dave, niece Caroline & nephew-in-law Wyatt Penrod and someone I consider family, Carrie Woolsey) - when I have them that's all I need to keep it rollin' along - you all are the best!!
DDBR's next race will be Friday & Saturday, January 22nd & 23rd at Welcome Home (oops, I mean John Volken Academy) in Gilbert....will have more details soon(ish).
Have a wonderful Christmas -- "Jesus is the Reason for the Season" so it's sure to be great!

Here ya' go Boys & Girls -- the pre-draw for tomorrow's race at Horseshoe Park....books will be open until the race starts at 1. If you're running late please let me know OR if you have multiple horses that would be good too.

Happy Thursday Tub Turners! Today is the day if you'd like to pre-enter Saturday's race at Horseshoe Park, Queen Creek...we will run time only's from 10:30 to 12:30 ($4. ea.) then Open to All 5D at 1. Books will be open until the race starts - Cash Only
$500 added open / $50. EF
WPRA Approved
with a permit & junior/youth sidepot $25. EF / 95% payback

WHEW! Now that the WNFR is over we can get back to normal (whatever that might be!?).....just a reminder about the DDBR race this Saturday at Horseshoe Park (we'll be outside).
FUTURITY CONTESTANTS -- yes, there is a sidepot for your baby horses (please bring your horse papers).
All the info is on the attached flyer but if you have any questions don't hesitate to let me know, like I've always said I have an answer for everything !~~ even if it's wrong.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!!!
Your homes probably all smell like wonderful food & you're ready to have a great holiday with family and friends in spite of this crazy year!! Let's not forget that we live in the best country in the world (YES, I am prejudice!) and that alone is enough to be very thankful for - whether we eat turkey or ramen noodles.
Sorry to be so late with the attached flyer for our Christmas race, lots of busy things happening so the WPRA approval was a bit slow and I hate to advertise something until I know that it's a-go!
Futurity riders please note that we'll have a sidepot for your c**ts, please be sure to bring c**t papers (or vet affidavit) with you to verify age.
We had lots of time onlies last week, I've added another 1/2 hour so we'll start those at 10:30 and hope that will work so all can get their practice in.

God gave us a beeeautiful day today!!! The weather was great, the ground was great, the peeps all seemed happy (even the ones that didn't win) and it's always a fun day with the super crew at Horseshoe Park! No complaints from me (a record eh?)
Special thanks to Dynamite Horseman Supply & MVP for us being able to provide some fun prizes that we raffled off.
I also just have to thank my family. I'd probably have to close up shop if it weren't for brother Dave McFarlane and today I also got to have his kid Caroline & hubby Wyatt Penrod, course I woulda still been there if not for pal Carrie Woolsey who survived another race with me...many thanks to you all!!
DDBR's next race will be again at Horseshoe Park but we'll be outside and if you have any questions about that pen it is every bit as good as inside...I'm waiting on the WPRA approval before I put the final touches on the flyer but we'll be there December 19th for our Christmas Race.
And now for all you inquiring minds some results.....
