Pssst, hey you! Yeah, you. Did you miss out on registering for PHUNT 2027? Or are at the end of the waitlist line? Well, there's a new cheat code to gain an automatic spot. Any NEW registrations for the 2026 The HAT Run 50K will be able to get into PHUNT 2027. Yes, you'll still have to pay for the spot. However, it's a guaranteed spot. Like PHUNT, The HAT Run 50K is a two loop course. While you won't earn a finisher's medal if you stop after one loop, you'll still have a great time on the trails, with well stocked aid stations. You may even see the PHUNT RD volunteering at an aid station...perhaps handing out a few buffs to any phans.

I got some good news, some bad news, and some tragic news to report. Tragic news is that the RD’s hair transplant surgery will need to be put off for a few more years. Bad news is that we’ll no longer be able to rent a 16 ft shipping pod to haul supplies each year. The good news is that PHUNT HQ is now outfitted with a used 24 ft enclosed trailer. Just imagine how many phries we will pack for next year!

Mother Nature gave us a tease last weekend. If we hosted the event this weekend, we’d be finding spandex attired runners huddled on Carl’s torture chamber well into April. Well, there’s always next year…. : )

One of our event photographers is lobbying for an extra hill be put into next year's course that would rival or surpass "Carl's torture chamber". Hmm, I do know of such a hill. I'm not opposed to a chocolate chip cookie bribe to NOT add the hill. Just saying....

2027 registration is now closed, and the wait list is open. As an FYI, anybody on this year's wait list did have the opportunity to complete registration. Some just had the chance a lot earlier than the race date.
