St. Augustine Amateur

Elite Amateur Golf Tournament The St. Augustine Amateur is a highly competitive golf tournament for better amateur and collegiate players.

Hosted annually in October in St. Augustine Florida, the 54-hole stroke play, walking only, competition is conducted over three days. The field is limited to 78 players whose golf resumes and tournament experience have earned them a spot in the field. The winner receives the John C. Jennison III Trophy as well as Golfweek/amateurgolf.com World Amateur Golf Ranking Points. All net proceeds of the event benefit The First Tee of North Florida.

To honor one of our founders, we will officially name the helmet trophy “The Tuck” celebrating .johnsgolfclub Director of Golf - Wes Tucker’s passion and commitment to the St. Augustine Amateur. The Conquest is Complete! Congrats to our 2025 St. Augustine Amateur Champion - Adam Vermut from University of North Florida. All players were challenged by not only the course, but also the weather. Adam birdied the 18th to win by one over Jake Moffitt. Thank you to all our participants, volunteers, sponsors, and St. Johns Golf Club staff for making the 20th edition the best yet. A special thanks to for joining the team and expanding our social presence. Looking forward to 2026…

A gloomy day shined bright on our new leader .verm as he closed out Round 2 with 3 shot lead. As we head into the final round, the committee will shotgun start all players at 8:30 AM to hopefully get the round in and crown a 54-Hole Champion. Special thanks to .johnsgolfclub maintenance crew and all our tournament volunteers for making this 20th edition the best one yet!
