🏁 FRIDAY'S INSIDE THE WRENCHLIFE — IT'S A SMALL CAR WORLD!

One of our great customers, Randy Thorson, recently shared a story that's just too good not to tell!

Randy, who owns an awesome Buick we've had the pleasure of working on many times, was at a car show last Sunday when a fellow walked up and asked:

"Are you the Thorson who owned a GTX years ago?"

Randy said yes.

The fellow smiled and said, "I'm the 16-year-old kid you sold it to back in 1974!"

52 YEARS LATER!

The two spent the next hour talking and reminiscing. Randy couldn't believe how much this fellow remembered about him and that old GTX.

They say everybody is connected by six degrees of separation. But around Traffic Jams Speed Shop and in the Wrenchlife community, we figure it's more like THREE!

That's what makes the car world so special. The cars may come and go, but the stories, friendships, and memories stick around forever.

MORE THAN JUST A CAR
81 YEARS OLD — AND GETTING HIS T-BUCKET BACK.
The owner bought this T-Bucket sight unseen at an auction for one simple reason.
He had owned one like it for 40 years, and he’d always promised himself that if he ever found another one like it, he’d buy it.
Then this one appeared.
Same model. Same shape. Same color. Same options.
So he kept his promise.
We’ve already helped make it his with a new engine, rebuilt brakes, transmission and rear end work. Now it’s back at Traffic Jams for another round — a new fuel system, new gauges and a new wiring harness.
Little by little, he’s not just restoring a T-Bucket.
He’s making it drivable. He’s making it his. And maybe he’s getting a little piece of those 40 years back, too.
That last thought is what I’d build the graphic around. Something like:
SOME CARS YOU NEVER REALLY FORGET.
At 81, he found his again.

We recently had a customer whose everyday driver just wasn’t warming up like it should.
The culprit? A thermostat stuck open.
When a thermostat sticks open, the engine may have trouble reaching normal operating temperature—which can mean lukewarm air coming from the vents and a chilly ride as temperatures drop.
We flushed the cooling system, replaced the thermostat, and got everything operating properly again.
Now the heat is back — warm and toasty!
🍂 FALL TIP FROM TRAFFIC JAMS:
Don’t wait for the first freezing morning to find out your heater isn’t doing its job. If your car takes forever to warm up, the temperature gauge seems unusually low, or the heat just isn’t as hot as it used to be, have it checked.
Everyday drivers need love too.
