⚠️ IMPORTANT COURSE CHANGE ⚠️
Due to unknown construction, the 5K course needed to be changed last minute. See the map and instructions below.
The start/finish line will be located in the same spot in Bicentennial Park.
- When you head out of the park, you will take a RIGHT onto Elkhart Ave and follow this to Waterfall Drive.
- Take a RIGHT onto Waterfall and follow it across Jackson St onto the river walk.
- Follow the river walk, take a RIGHT onto the Island Park bridge and loop the park, coming back onto the bridge.
- You will take a SHARP RIGHT back onto the riverwalk and follow until Main Street.
- Take a RIGHT onto Main St and then a RIGHT onto Beardsley Ave.
- You will then turn LEFT onto Cassopolis St.
-Turn RIGHT onto E Crawford St (right by the Montessori School)
You will run through a short patch of grass to hop onto the path that takes you to high dive park.
- Turn LEFT in the park, follow the loop around the pond and back over the bridge
- When you come out of the park, you will follow the sidewalk to the LEFT of High Dive Pavilion back to Beardsley Ave
- Turn LEFT onto Beardsley Ave to Johnson St.
- Turn RIGHT onto Johnson St. to head back to Elkhart Ave (by Hacienda).
- Turn RIGHT onto Elkhart Ave and follow it back to the Bicentennial Park entrance.
- Turn RIGHT into the park entrance and head right back to the start/finish line!
The course will be well marked; orange cones with arrows will guide you along the way. Barricades will also be blocking traffic on Elkhart Ave, Waterfall, the turn lane on Main, Beardsley, Cassopolis and Johnson St, to give participants plenty of space to run safely. We are grateful that members of the Elkhart City Police and Fire departments will be out for traffic control as well as on the course for any safety or medical issues that might arise. Please be sure to thank them for being there if you are able while on the course!
We apologize for the last minute change, but think you will find this to be a scenic and fun course that follows the beautiful riverwalk and takes you through both Island and High Dive park. The finish is also much clearer, which I know many of you past participants will appreciate!
Don't forget! Packet pick up is happening now until 7:30 p.m. at the front entrance of the Elkhart Community Schools Administration Building, located at 2720 California Rd. Elkhart, IN 46514. For your convenience, we are implementing a drive-thru style pick up. Simply pull up to the front of the building, tell us who you are picking up for, and we will bring your race bag to you.
If you are unable to make it this evening, you can pick up your chips, bib and race bag on Saturday morning from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the race location at Bicentennial Park (100 N. Elkhart Ave, Elkhart, IN 46516).
