Elkhart Jazz Festival

Elkhart Jazz Festival Live music can be found around every corner in Downtown Elkhart, Indiana. Never been? Check out ElkhartJazzFestival.com/guide to get started

See you June 18-21 for the 38th annual festival, presented by the Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Since 1988, jazz legends and jazz fans have come together each summer for one memorable weekend at the Elkhart Jazz Festival. Combining warm, intimate, small town hospitality with the excitement of big city jazz, the Elkhart Jazz Festival has become an internationally acclaimed event. D

uring its inaugural weekend in 1988, the festival welcomed 67 musicians and 3,000 jazz enthusiasts. Today, the festival showcases more than 100 performers and draws an audience of 15,000 to our community celebration of America's classic art form - jazz. Why the phenomenal growth? It's because of the extraordinary efforts of hundreds of community volunteers. More than 200 dedicated men, women and teens donate their time throughout the weekend to bring the festival to life. They set up stages, take ticket orders, help people find their seats, announce the acts, transport musicians, move equipment…and much more. Playing a crucial supporting role in the festival are the numerous corporate sponsors, the City of Elkhart, loyal patrons and other benefactors. Popularly known as the Band Instrument Capital of the World, Elkhart's companies employ over 1,000 skilled craftspersons in the production of instruments that give voice to music. The Elkhart Jazz Festival is perhaps the only volunteer-delivered jazz festival in the nation. And it's only one reason that Elkhart is known as "The City with a Heart."

Our final talent announcement for 2026! Wait, did you really think Dave Bennett wouldn't make it to Elkhart for this party?!?

“Bennett is a player superbly well balanced between purity and power. Bennett injects three heady shots of adrenalin that bring the music sharply to life.” - DownBeat Magazine

Dave doesn’t fit the mold. For starters, you don’t find many jazz clarinet players who name Alice Cooper, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Chris Isaak among their influences. You won’t find many musicians who are equally conversant with the music of Benny Goodman (the “King of Swing”) and Roy Orbison (“The Soul of Rock and Roll”). In fact, you may not find even one other clarinet virtuoso who breaks from his Swing Era repertoire to sing rockabilly hits while accompanying himself at the piano or electric guitar.

To see the Dave Bennett Quartet in action this year, make plans to get your pass for Saturday afternoon and find your way to the Crystal Ballroom!

Jazz, R&B, classic rock - expect a little of everything when they take the South Main stage for the late-night show on Friday of festival weekend.
