What is “talka”? 🌿
In Latvian tradition, a talka is when people come together to help—voluntarily working on something that benefits a family, community, or the land.
It’s rooted in old rural life, when neighbors joined forces for big seasonal tasks like harvesting or building. But it’s about more than work—it’s about connection.
✨ Helping without expecting anything in return
🌲 Living in rhythm with nature
🤝 Strengthening community
🍲 Sharing food, stories, and celebration after the work is done
A talka is the quiet joy of doing something meaningful—together.
