What if the land could speak—what would it remember?
The Land Remembers is a moving, reflective presentation that explores our ancestral connection to the places we call home—and the responsibility we carry to care for them. Blending storytelling, environmental history, and ecological insight, this session invites us to listen deeply to the land’s memory, resilience, and quiet wisdom.
This year’s program also highlights the essential role of prescribed fire in restoring native habitats and maintaining ecological balance. When used with care and respect for traditional practices, fire becomes a tool for healing—reducing invasive species, protecting against wildfires, and renewing the land.
Rooted in Door County’s natural beauty and guided by both science and story, this experience is a chance to reflect, reconnect, and reimagine our relationship with the Earth.
