I have been asked to share the following:
Illini Country Stitchers has a few openings for this upcoming workshop:
On Friday morning, June 26. Chris Kirsch will offer a three-hour workshop on Seminole piecing. It involves creating intricate designs by piecing colorful strips of fabric in horizontal bands. This method allows for intricate designs with minimal waste of fabric.
Simple strip piecing, cross-cutting, and straight or diagonal re-sewing, can add a border that takes your quilt from simple to simply fantastic. Samples of different Seminole patterns will be made to keep as a reference for future projects, or they may be stitched into your own “Seminole Sampler.”
Cost for a half-day workshop for non-guild members is $40. A kit is required at an additional cost of $15/student. The kit will include all the fabric necessary to make five different border samples. The additional supply list is posted on the ICS web site. If you would like to attend, contact [email protected]. Use SEMINOLE SAMPLER in the subject line.

Many of you have asked what to put under your wool pressing mats. This new Geasy Wool Pressing Mat has its own silicone tray to hold it in place.
