Lawn Mower Demo Derby General Rules

General:
Remove all glass, cast iron, and plastic.
No zero turn radiuses (ZTR) allowed.
No rear engine lawnmowers are allowed.
No “Garden Tractor” conversions. No adapting a “Garden Tractor” into a mower.
If you can’t hook a deck to it and mow with it DO NOT BRING IT. It will be considered modified.
Do not make your mower in a tank, you will be disqualified.
DO NOT weld brackets and joints that raise and lower the deck they must remain intact before derby.
No reinforcing of the frame. All frames MUST remain stock. If these rules don’t say you can DO NOT weld it to the frame!
All mowers must use lawnmower wheels (clip axle mount wheels or single bolt axles NO BIGGER than 5/8) NO bolt on lug style (farm tractor style) tires are allowed. Stock type lawn mower tires only allowed. No tire chains, no dual wheels, not all steel tires, no AG tires, no ATV or Go-Kart tires. LAWN MOWER TURF TIRES ONLY. Tires may be checked for air pressure at check-in time. If you have any questions about the kind of tires you are running CALL THE INSPECTOR BEFORE the day of the derby! IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT YOUR TIRES, SEND A PICTURE TO JACKIE!
Mower:

Electric start mowers are preferred, not required. If your mower does pull start, you must be able to start your mower while remaining on your lawnmower and your legs and arms must remain inside of the safety cage.
No spikes or any protrusions on the mower.
Mower must have a number on each side, its encouraged to have the number on top.
Original and clever names are also strongly encouraged but not required.
NO profanity or demeaning language will be tolerated.
Mower deck MUST be removed.
Mowers must have good working brakes at the start of the heat.
Mowers must have forward and reverse gears at the start of the heat.
Safety Cage:
Mowers MUST have a safety cage installed for drivers’ protection. The purpose of the safety cage is to protect the driver, NOT to reinforce the strength and durability of the mower.
Safety cage may be as far forward as the engine crankshaft and extend to the fenders.
This must be 1 ¼”-2” square tubing, angle iron, or round tubing, this is to protect feet and legs.
Safety cage must have at least 4 solid welds or bolt points to the frame or fenders.
Safety cage must NOT protect tires.
The tires must remain FULLY open and exposed.
Close the sides of the safety along the drivers’ legs with bars no more than 4” apart. You may use bars or sheet metal.
The top of the safety cage rail must come to just below the drivers’ knees (when seated) AND be colored red between the tires, so it is visible to the others and officials. This is the “NO HIT ZONE”.
NO direct hits to the red areas. These will be treated like a direct hit to the driver’s door just like those in a car demo derby.
Drivers will receive 1 warning and then they will be disqualified for a second illegal hit.
You may use a 1 1/4'’-2’ square tubing, angle iron, or round tubing that can go underneath to hold the guards in place. This bar IS NOT to be welded to the surface underneath the mower or to the frame of the mower. Nothing is to be welded under the mower between the frame rails. NO EXCEPTIONS! 1 only is allowed. If chose to have a bar in front of your seat it can ONLY be welded to the body in 2 places and must NOT be welded to the frame in anyway!
All mowers must have a hood able to be opened for inspection then bolted with no more that 4 ¼” by 3” bolts at the dash around the drivers’ area.
NO seam welding allowed! No added welding to the frame allowed.
Bumpers:
Front bumper is not to exceed 8 INCHES and Rear bumper is not extend more than 4 INCHES from the mower and must stay inside of the tires.
No pipe bigger than 2 INCHES square or round may be used for bumper material.
Bumper must remain flat across
NO spikes, sharp edges, points, etc.
MUST be no more than 15 inches to the top of the bumper from the ground..
Back bumper may have a “hoop” weld off the bumper going up behind the back seat. Hoop can NOT be any wider than 15 inches for protection of the drivers’ seat only.
No double stacking of bumpers.
A bumper height inspection tool will be onsite at all derbies.
Engine:
Air cooled engines only. Engines are limited to a maximum of 20 HP.
Engine must be a factory lawnmower engine such as Briggs & Stratton, Tecumseh, Onan, Kholer, Etc.
Single Cylinder Engines ONLY!
Internal engine performance modifications NOT allowed.
STOCK ONLY!
Exhaust modifications are encouraged; however, all pipes must be securely mounted.
Broken or loose exhaust pipes may disqualify the mower from the heat.
If engine has a governor override it must still operate at a safe speed. Speed will be determined by officials.
Electrical:
ANY OCCUPANT MUST HAVE A KILL SWITCH. Examples include any boat/jet ski type of kill switch.
Key switches are NOT kill switches.
Battery MUST be covered with a non-conductive material and anchored securely down.

Fuel Tank:
You will be disqualified for any leaking gas.
Fuel tank must be secured and have a cap.
Tank may be relocated to a more secure location IF stock position is in a compromising area.

Modifications:
You may use any seat that will fit on top of the back of the mower.
You may build a chair cage on top of the fenders around the seat to protect your ribs and back. This may not be wider than the fenders.
You can add as many belt-savers as needed but it CAN NOT reinforce the frame in ANYWAY!
CAUTION: Modifying mowers may cause it to be top heavy and tip over easier.
Changing pulleys is permitted and encouraged.
Drive train modifications are permitted if it stays belt driven. NO chain driven or shaft driven tractors allowed.
No motor cages allowed.
Spark plug and overhead valve protector are allowed. This protector can be welded or bolted. If welded, protector must be welded to the INSIDE of bumper struts ONLY. NO KICKERS are allowed. This protector must be no taller than 8 inches and no wider than the mower frame. PLEASE SEE PHOTO AT THE END OF THE RULES FOR EXAMPLE!
Pre-run mowers can have 1 plate per-side on frame. Plate must remain same thickness as mower frame. Plate must be no longer than 4 inches. Bend must be a VISIBLE bend where you have placed your plates.
Front end must remain stock. No welding or reinforcement allowed. Must pivot!
Rear-End:
If rear-end is welded mower cannot ride high wheelies.
Factory rear ends only
Must remain stock, NO after markets front or rear ends.
No welding. No reinforcements allowed.
Drivers:
Participate at your own risk.
All drivers must show a legal I.D.
All drivers must be at least 16 years of age.
Drivers under 18 of age must provide a parental consent form.
Drivers must wear a helmet, long sleeves, long pants, closed toes shoes and eye protection. NO EXCEPTIONS!
No sandbagging allowed. Driver must administer at least one hit every 30 seconds to be disqualified.
Event:
Must pay entry fee prior to inspection.
All mowers must pass inspection before the derby.
If you can’t pass inspection, there will be NO REFUNDS.
If your mower does rollover, you can restart ONE TIME if the officials deem your mower safe. Two rollovers result in disqualification.
All drivers must stop and wait until the officials give drivers instructions to restart.
Each mower will get 1 minute total to restart. Once the 1 minute is up, you are eliminated.
Any mower catches on fire is black flagged.
You must be through inspection & have your paperwork done before the drivers meeting!
SAFETY FIRST!
Judges’ & Inspectors rulings are FINAL. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Protest Rule:
If you want to protest one of the mowers there is $50 fee to protest. If you lose the protest, you will not receive your money back, the mower you protest will receive the $50. If you win the protest, you will receive your money back and the mower will be disqualified.

MWFA Rules as of 1/21/26 Promoted by 143 Promotions

This class was created to have fun and fun for the fans to watch (Total Carnage). If you come with a vehicle that is built any more than what is listed below you will not run.

1. Any 1980 and newer 2 wheel drive passenger car/ mini-van/mini-truck/mid-size suv

2. All vehicles must be stripped of all plastic, glass, headlights, taillights and anything else that could fall off onto the track during the show.

3. All vehicles must remain stock, ABSOLUTELY NO WELDING ANYWHERE.

4. Bumpers must remain stock, do not alter the bumper in any way. Factory bumper shocks must remain in the factory location. You may remove rear bumpers and shocks. There is no welding to be done on bumpers.

5. Batteries may be left in stock location and spray foam may be added around the battery. You may also move the battery to the passenger floor or seat. Please make sure the battery is not moving.

6. If the factory gas tank is in front of the axle you may leave it there. If it's behind the axle, you must move it to the rear seat area. Factory tanks may be moved inside but completely secured.
Aftermarket tanks may be used.

7. All doors may be wired or chained in 6 places max per seam.

8. Trunks, hoods, tailgates, all may be wired or chained in 6 places total. Sheet metal to sheet metal only. Nothing to frame or bumpers. If you remove the trunk or tailgate you lose that wire or chain.

9. A rear seat bar may be added. It may be welded to post. If you have to add something to get it away from the seat please call. This is only to stop sides from coming in, not to help any other part of the vehicle.

10. The driver's door only may have a plate welded to the outside or inside. This is for driver safety.

11. DOT STREET TIRES ONLY. Stock wheels that came on the car. All wheel weights must be removed. Only tubes and air are permitted inside of tires.

12. ABSOLUTELY NO PASSENGERS

These rules are cut and dry, you should not have to call to ask many questions on this class.
If it does not say you can do it then that means YOU CANNOT do it. Quick and easy build.

143 Promotions 2026 YOUTH Bonestock Compact Oswego, Ks

These are rules for you to follow, not to manipulate. If these rules do not state you can do
something, then you can’t! If you get creative and can explain how something fits within the
rules, we encourage it! No vans, suvs, full frames or mini trucks. No V8’s. All cars must fit
the wheelbase of FACTORY 108” for that make and model, no altering cars to fit wheelbase
or cut downs. RWD AND FWD welcome. All trash and debris must be removed from the
car. Must have a visible roof sign or your number visible on both sides of the car. No
profanity lettered on cars.

1.) CAGE-
Anything can be done to the driver's door for safety, a bar behind the seat from door to door
is allowed. A 4 point cage is highly recommended. Dash may be removed and a 4" max
diameter pipe/tubing welded in its place (minimum 6" away from the firewall measured at
the furthest point back on sheet metal). The dash bar and back seat bar may be connected
inside the car on the passenger's side. A simple halo/rollover loop off of the seat bar to roof.
You will be allowed a Gas tank protector, it must run straight back off the back seat bar. Will not be allowed to go past the speaker deck at any point
Must be 24” wide Max. Must be 3” away from sheet metal and 4” off the floor. ALL CAGE
MATERIAL MUST REMAIN INSIDE THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT.

2.) PREP-
Car must be fully stripped of all flammable material. Factory seats and factory dash are
allowed. All, chrome, door handles, and any unsafe items must be removed from the inside
and outside of the cars. All plastic, stainless and pot metal trim, fiberglass, and rubber must
be removed from the outside of the car. Car floor, trunks, and inside of doors must be swept
of glass, debris, and must be clean. REMOVE ALL WINDOWS. The battery must be
securely fastened for inspection!!

3.) SUSPENSION/DRIVETRAIN-
Car must have some type of working brakes. ALL COMPONENTS OF THE TYPE OF
CARS USED IN THIS CLASS MUST BE STOCK OEM MATERIAL FOR THE MODEL OF
CAR YOU ARE USING, including motor, transmission and rearend. Suspension, struts and
coil springs must be factory to the car you choose to run. All suspension must be stock and not reinforced . Strut must remain stock. No building of the struts. Car must bounce. No strut spacers. Coil springs must be OEM to the car YOU chose to use. Can tie down with #9
wire, one spot per side max 4 loops of wire. Headers are allowed. Aftermarket shifter, gas,
brake pedals allowed/ CAN NOT ACT AS A KICKER TO SUPPORT ANYTHING…keep
everything on the car as it would be driving down the road. Don’t push the build rules or you
won’t run!
No chains, all thread or any other material connecting main frame to k frame.

4.) BODY/FRAME-
No welding ANYWHERE UNLESS STATED IN THE RULES. NO BODY SHAPING
ANYWHERE. Trunk lids may be removed or cut, but NO SHAPING. (2) spots of 9 wire (2)
loops each or (2) spots 1/4" chain allowed in windshield area for safety. Or you may use (2)
2” strap ¼” thick. 4” welded to the top of the roof and only 6” of the strap welded to the Firewall/cowl area and can not extend past. Nothing may be attached in any manner to act as a kicker. This is for
safety only. Front window bars can not be touching the halo. Decisions will be at the inspector's discretion. Hood and trunk lids may be bolted not welded. This may be bolted with
(6)- 3/8” max bolts, sheet metal to sheet metal only, max 4" long 1-1/2" washers. Can it be
1/2" bolts, NO! Can it be 7/16” all thread, NO! IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE THE BOLTS,
CHAIN AND WIRE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. These bolts must be in the hood and trunk
lid. You may use 1/4” chain or (2) loops of 9 wire in place of bolts for trunk and hood. (2)
spots per door seam may be fastened shut with 1/4” chain or (2) loops of 9 wire.

5.) GAS TANKS/TIRES-
Gas tank must be relocated to the back seat area of the car and securely fastened FOR
INSPECTION!! Any tire wheel combo smaller than 16” No bead locks, no lip protectors, no
full centers. May use small 6” multi lug centers. Valve stem protectors are ok. Doubled and
tubed tires are ok. No foam filled tires. May run solid rubber tires on the rear of FWD cars.

6.) BUMPERS-
You can stuff any year stock bumper to make it last, ALL METAL MUST be located inside of
the factory bumper skins (front & back). No prefab bumpers. We will allow a 4” max square tube in place of a bumper. No points. You must wrap the tube with a chrome skin. Bumper may be welded on with a SINGLE 1/2”
wide max bead NO ADDED METAL! You can have a 4”x6”x1/4” bumper bracket welded wheel side only and must attach to the bumper.

7.) UNLIMITED #9 Wire on preran cars. This doesn’t include scraping paint with your
buddies car or backing it into a tree.

8.) Repair plates: (2) 4”x4”x1/4” plates per rail. (4) plates total per car. Pre-ran cars only! NO
PLATES ON FRESH CARS. Repair plates are not allowed on k frames. Main frame only.

9.) body bolts: all body bolts must remain stock. No extra body bolts will be allowed. We will allow you to change your front most body bolts at core support and run vertically up and be used as a hood bolt. 3/4 max. Cannot weld in.
Any material found inside the frame is a loadable offence. Do not push your Luck.

Super Stock Full-Size Rules: Promoted by 143 Promotions-

General Rules and Regulations:
1. Any American made car can run with the following exceptions. Full-Size cars with the wheelbase of at least 113” or more. No 4x4’s, NO Imperials, no Imp sub, No Ambulances, NO Trucks, No vans, or Limousines
2. All drivers must sign driver’s paperwork before being inspected or they will not run.
3. Drivers must wear a seat belt, helmet, long sleeve shirt, pants (Fire Suit highly recommended).
4. All drivers must attend the pit meeting before the event.
5. No drivers are allowed any alcohol or drugs before the event, If found under the influence while wearing a drivers band you will be disqualified for the remainder of the event.
6. Any complaints that a driver has about another car prior to the start of your heat will need to be addressed in the drivers meeting in specifics. If nothing is said, we don’t want to hear about it after the show.
7. DO NOT paint anywhere on the suspension, frame, or interior of the car.
8. No driver substitutions, only one driver per entered car.
9. Judges' decisions are final!!

Show Rules:
1. You have 1 minute to make an aggressive hit, After 1 minute that car is disqualified.
2. For safety, DO NOT HIT IN THE DRIVER’S DOOR!!
3. You will be given 2 fires, the 1st one we put out and the 2nd one you are done for that round.
4. Rollovers, you may keep going as long as the car is deemed safe.

Car Preparation: IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN SPECIFICALLY DO SOMETHING THEN YOU CAN’T
1. No fresh paint or undercoating on the frames at all. No buffing or grinding frames or bodies except where welding is specifically allowed in the rules.
2. All cars must be stock, unless modification is stated in the rules.
3. All glass, plastic, chrome, and interior must be removed from the car before arriving to the derby.
4. All trailer hitches and braces must be removed.
5. You MUST have a number in bright colors on each front door and may have a sign on the roof of your car with a car number on it.
6. Batteries must be moved to the passenger front floorboard. They must be properly secured and covered.
7. All cars must have working brakes, If the car is not able to exhibit the ability to stop, it will not be inspected.
8. NO welding other than what is mentioned in this set of rules. If your car is found with any weld other than what is allowed and you refuse to fix it to the judge’s satisfaction, you and your car will not run.
Body:

1. Remove all glass mirrors and plastic. Remove all decking in wagons, cars must be swept clean of all debris before you get to the derby.
2. No frame shaping, forming or folding.
3. Deck lids and tailgates must be in stock location. You may tuck the trunk with a single 90-degree bend, or you may dish the trunk lid. The trunk lid must remain on the factory hinges. Fasten trunk or tailgate by welding 5 inches on 5 inches off using 3”x1/8” strap or (4) 2 strands of #9 wire or 3/8” chain. Your choice, cannot have both.
4. Anything can be removed; nothing can be added.
5. Hoods get (2) hood clip 3” long 2”x 2” x3/16” with one ½” bolt and nut per side,or (3) 5/8” bolts. Cannot have both options. (2) ⅝” core support bolts thru the hood to top of frame only with 4”x4”x1/4” hood washers. Core support spacers may not exceed 3” square tube 5” max height, tube be welded to the frame tab. May not be welded to the core support in any manner.
6. You may weld doors 5 inches on 5 inches off using only 3”x 1/8” strap. Driver’s door may be welded solid. You may weld a formed door skin to the drivers door for added protection.
7. Body mounts and spacers to remain stock and in place. Body mount bolts may be changed with ⅝” bolts. Body mount bolts may not exceed 8” in length. Body mount spacers may be replaced with washers or a solid mount. But they must be 1” tall and may not be welded to the frame in any manner. The spacer may not be one solid spacer contoured to the frame. If you reuse the rubber spacer they must retain their factory height and may not be sucked all the way flat. Or you will loosen the body bolt. Body bolts may extend through the body and have up to a 4”x4”x1/4” plate or washer. This plate or washer must be separated at the firewall body bolts. They cannot reinforce the frame. Body bolts must be inside the frame and mounted top side only. You may use a maximum of a 2”x3”x1/4” washer.
8. #9 wire, chain or (2) 3”x3/8” bar required in front windshield.
9. NO rear window bar.
10. You will be allowed to crease the body.

Frames
1. No welding on frames allowed. Unless stated.
2. No suspension modifications allowed. May only use suspension parts from a car allowed to run in this class. NO heim joints, no reinforced ball joint mounts.
3. You may use 2) 2”x4”x1/8” strap to weld your upper a arms to the frame.
4. You may use a single strand #9 wire to hold the coil spring to the rear end or weld it to the axle tube. Leaf sprung cars may use (3) 2”x2”x1/4” leaf clamps with ⅜” bolts.
5. You may weld the factory seam A Arms forward. ½” wide bead. TOP side only.
6. You may cold tilt frames. You can not cut and tilt. You may not use any plate to support the tilt. Crossmember mounts may not support the side rail tilt.
7. Rust repair. Have pictures ready and contact the numbers below on options. IF you show up with rust repair and have not contacted any officials you will not run.
8. You may use (2) strands of #9 wire 4 strands thick from cage side door bars to frame rail. You will not be allowed the use of cable or turn buckles. NO use of #9 wire to the drivetrain or the crush boxes.

Tires/wheels:
1. Tires no bigger than 16 inches, no split rims, no studded tire, doubled tires are ok. NO bead lock rims. Valve stem protectors are ok. Bead lip stiffeners are ok.

Drivetrain: any drivetrain allowed with the following criteria
1. You may use a ½” think lower cradle with a pulley protector. If you run a pulley protector you cannot run the sway bar. NO MIDPLATES, TRANSMISSION SPACER, NO FULL CRADLES, NO DP. Only the lower engine mounts (NOT THE LOWER CRADLE) may be welded to the K member. You may use two ½ “ thick spacers to raise the engine to clear steering components, and may not exceed rubber mount area. You may extend off the back of the crossmember but nothing excessive, ½” flat plate only (example sbc in Caddy, Mopar, Ford).
2. NO TRANSMISSION PROTECTORS. Stock crossmembers only. NO tube crossmembers. You will be allowed a 2”x5”x1/4” angle iron crossmember mount. Aftermarket bell housing or Scatter shield is ok. NO Crusher trans or Thick aftermarket Automatic transmission cases.
3. Rear end swaps allowed: You may use any factory 5 lug rear end. May run a simple back brace. Bracing must not exceed 4” off the rear end housing and axle tubes. You will be allowed to run axle savers. Bracing or axle tubes may not reinforce the frame in any manner. Judges decision on this, if need be. You must run an OE trailing arm for the car you are running. You may shorten or lengthen the trailing arm, but it must be butt welded with no extra metal. Must be a direct bolt-in. Trailing arms may not be reinforced. Spider gears maybe welded.
Watts conversions will be allowed. Must use a bolt on conversion style bracket. Upper brackets may not exceed (5) ½” bolts. Lower brackets must not exceed (3) ½” bolts. Lower bracket bolts may not PIN the frame. NO aftermarket trailing arms. Unused watts brackets must be removed from the frame.
Pinion Brakes are allowed
NO LEAF SPRING CONVERSIONS ALLOWED.
4. You may run 1 piece of 3/8” chain from rear end around frame OR 2 strands of #9 wire from rear end to frame, nothing thru the body, nothing thru the frame ( #9 wire 2 loops, 4 strands together).
5. Headers allowed. (none may strengthen the car).
6. Slider drive shafts are allowed.
7. Aftermarket steering column ok, no hydro steering, aftermarket pedal and shifter ok.

Driver’s Compartment:
1. 4-point square cage 6” max material. 6” away from fire wall inside of car not inside of door skins. Side bars not to exceed 62” in total length, with (2) 2” x 3” down tube to sheet metal only per side. Halo bar is allowed to be attached to the back seat bar and welded to the top side of the frame..
2. Gas tank protector is allowed no wider than 24 inches. Must be at least 1 inch away from the rear package tray sheet metal. Must run straight back from the center of the cage and must be a minimum of 4 inches off the trans tunnel. Can run 2 support bars off the halo to gas tank protector to support it. MUST BE INSIDE THE CAR. It may not extend on top of the speaker deck or out the rear window.
3. Driver’s door must be padded.
4. Gas tank must be removed and cannot use factory tank. The battery must be moved and secured to the passenger side floorboard.
5. Trans coolers allowed, must be mounted inside of the car and securely mounted to the cage.
6. You may use (2) strands of #9 wire 4 strands thick in the back door. You will not be allowed the use of cable or turn buckles.

Bumpers:
1. You may weld on any OEM stock bumper, you can stuff OEM stock bumper. You will be allowed to use a replica bumper not to exceed factory dimensions. You may also run a max FLAT 4”x4” square tube bumper, with no POINT.. All tube style bumpers must be wrapped with a chrome skin. NO SHARP ENDS OR EDGES. 1 bumper on the front of the car and 1 bumper on the back of the car.
You may weld the stock bumper bracket for the car or the bumper to the frame 4 inches from back of the bumper, single pass only.
1. In addition, you may put 4 one-inch welds on the back side of the bracket or to weld shock inside the frame. (example Crown Vics). All bumper material longer than 4 inches must be removed.
2. Shocks can be collapsed and welded, all shocks and brackets in stock location.
All bumper brackets and shocks must be in stock location.
OR
You may shorten to one inch in front of the core support space and hard nose with no shocks or brackets on the car.
OR
You may chain, one piece of chain per side BOLTED from the mount to mount to hold on the bumper.
If your car did not come with a factory bumper bracket, you will be allowed 1) 4”x4”x1/4” plate welded to the wheel side only of the frame.

Pre Rans:

2003 and Newer Fomoco:
If you choose to swap engines with a GM you must use the factory Fomoco bolt in engine mount from an 03 and newer to the K-MEMBER. If this is done in an excessive manner you will be forced to make changes. You will have to run the factory aluminum K-member, No 80-02 K-member can be welded in and you cannot wrap the aluminum K-member with steel. The engine must bolt in the way it came from the factory and using the factory 03 and newer Fomoco engine mount or you will not run. Don't push it. TEXT the numbers below if you need clarification

LIMITED WELD COMPACTS 2026

Entries are open to men and women who have a valid Driver’s License. The Following regulations shall be observed for safety and fairness to all. Orderly conduct is required of all drivers and pit persons. If not, any driver and or people affiliated with that car will be removed without ANY refunds or prize money. Misconduct may result in being banned from present and/ or future participation. Any driver or crew member not complying with any one of the rules will be disqualified. Crew members are the responsibility of the driver.
Entries:
1. Each driver must be at least 14 years old.
2. Each driver must furnish their own car. The driver that is registered to the car, must drive that car in the heat assigned to them. Unless the officials are notified of a driver change and approve it.
3. No vans, suvs, or mini trucks.
4. No V8 engines allowed.
5.All cars must have a factory wheelbase of 110 inches or less.
6.All cars will have to pass inspection before the tech line closes.
7.Prior to the start of the driver’s meeting, each driver must sign an entry and a release form.
Participation Rules:
1. Drivers may maneuver either forward or backwards.
2. Hitting an opponent’s car in the driver’s door is not allowed and will be cause for disqualification.
3. Must make a damaging hit (from a spectator’s point of view) every 60 seconds. No team driving or sandbagging.
4. All drivers must attend the drivers meeting prior to start time.
5. All drivers must remain in their cars until the car is removed from the track. Unless an official removes the driver.
6. No driver or pitman under the influence of alcohol will be permitted to enter the arena or to participate.
7. Any driver not in place when called upon will be disqualified.
8. Pitmen are not allowed in the arena during a heat.
9. No one will be allowed to stay in the pit area without a pit pass.
10. No one under the influence of alcohol is permitted to drive.
11.Cars may be inspected at any time for reinforcements, etc. Top 3 finalists will be subject to reinspection after the finish of the finals.
12.Car and driver in the inspection area only.
Preparation Of Cars:
1. Vehicles may only be modified in the following ways. Any modifications not specifically authorized by the rules are strictly prohibited.
2. Do not read into the rules! Just read and follow the rules! Not following the rules will result in you being loaded. Your choice!
3. The driver's name should be above the number on the front doors, or you can run a number sign. The number sign cannot reinforce the car. No obscenities are allowed.
4. Concrete, metal plating, wood, foam, or pins in the frame will be considered added ballast and will result in the car being loaded.
5. Station wagon decking must be removed.
6. Anything can be removed; nothing can be added unless specified in the rules.
7.After any car passes inspection, you will not be allowed to add repair plates to the frame or body in any way! Do not weld your frame or body after heat. Remember cars will be reinspected.
CAGE:
1. All cage material can be no larger than 2”x6” rectangle tubing unless specified for a specific rule smaller.
2. A 4-point cage will be allowed with a vertical halo.
It must be a minimum of 4” off the floor everywhere except the down bars going straight down.
3. Both door bars can only go 10” past the outside door seam on the front doors to where the bar will be mounted.
4. No cage material can connect or touch the engine, transmission or any of their components
5. The halo bar may go all the way to the floor or frame. If going to the frame it can only be welded to the top side of the frame.
6. You may weld two down bars from the cage to the frame vertically or to the floor to protect batteries and your feet. These down bars must remain behind the inside door seam and may only be welded to the top side of the frame. These bars can not exceed 2”x3”.
7. NO cage material or bracing will be allowed to extend through the trunk of the car to the frame or bumper.
8. NO cage material or bracing will be allowed to extend to the front frame rails or to the front bumper.
Gas Tank and Protector:
1. Aftermarket tanks are allowed and preferred. Mounted on the gas tank protector that is allowed is also preferred.
2. Factory tanks will be allowed to run if they are metal! No plastic tanks.
Will be allowed to run under the car only if they are in front of the rear axle and fully secured. If this becomes an issue, we will not allow it any further.
3. Gas tank protectors can only be 24” wide and must be 4” off the floor. Gas tank protector halo must be 6” away from the roof minimum and cannot extend past the rear firewall (speaker deck). Station wagon gas tank protector cannot extend beyond the front of the rear humps.
Gas tank protector can touch the speaker decking sheet metal, but the sheet metal cannot be altered or removed. Gas tank protector halo can be connected to the roof halo, but material must be inside the car. Max material is 2”x6” and these bars cannot go any further back than the backside of the gas tank protector.
Driver’s Compartment:
1. Transmission coolers and oil coolers may be placed inside the car and secured. All fans on coolers must have a cover for safety. Cannot connect to frame!
2. Battery boxes may be in the passenger side floorboard or attached to your cage. Must be secured and covered. Max of (2) batteries. Cannot connect to frame or crossmember.
3. Aftermarket straight column steering is allowed.
4. Aftermarket brake/gas pedal setups are allowed and can only bolt to the floor sheet-metal. Cannot attach to frame or crossmember. Cannot strengthen the car.
Frame:
1. No welding allowed on the frame.
2. You may be allowed to pre curl the rear frame section if you wish.
3. Cradle bolts may be changed to ¾” allthread running from bottom of the cradle through the frame. Must be fastened with flat stamped washers and ¾” nut. Must be flush with the top of the frame.
4. You are allowed (1) 3/8” chain per side from unibody to cradle. 1 loop only welded on each end. You CANNOT weld the loops together.
Bumpers:
1. OEM bumpers, replicas, and homemade bumpers are allowed.
2. The front bumper may be built to have a 14" point from the farthest point back from the back side of the bumper to the point. However, the point itself may be no more than factory Chrysler pointy itself and spanning over 36" span across the bumper. (Will have a cut out template to follow). NO sharp points on either the front or rear bumpers.
3. Bumpers cannot be any taller than 8” at any location.
4. You may shorten the frame to 1” in front of the core support mount and hard-nosed the bumper to the frame.
5. This means the main frame and it cannot attach to the cradle on FWD cars in any way.
6. You will be allowed a 4” wide x 6” long x ¼” thick bumper bracket per side.
7. Bumper bracket must be on the wheel side of the frame rail and must have a ½” inspection hole. If there isn’t one, you will cut one.
8. There CANNOT be any square tube added to the back of the bumper and inserted inside the frame. If this is found, you will not get the chance to cut and will not run, period!
9. All bumper mounting rules apply to the rear bumper as well.
10. NO rear pointy bumpers will be allowed.
Body:
1. All cars must be welded 5” on 5” off with a max of 3” wide 1/8” thick strap. This includes doors and the trunk lid. Also includes the tailgates on wagons.
2. The driver’s door may be welded solid.
3. The driver’s door is allowed a wrap that cannot go more than 3 inches past the door seam on either side.
4. All body panels may be creased but no doubling of seams.
5. You are allowed (3/8” bolts per fender and (3/8” bolts in the hood. All with a max of (1) 1/2” fender washers.
6. The body cannot be welded to the frame in any fashion. This includes the unibody to the k frame.
7. A front window bar must be run on each car. Minimum of 1 bar, max of 2 bars. Bars cannot be more than 3” wide This is for safety only.
8. Bars cannot extend past firewall sheet metal and can only be welded 6 inches on sheet metal.
9. May go from the roof to the dash bar or the roof to the firewall but not both and cannot be connected to the halo.
10. A rear window bar will be allowed. Must run from the roof to the front trunk seam and may go 3” to either side of the seam allowing a total of 6”. This cannot attach to the halo.
11. You are allowed 3 locations of #9 wire, builders choice. These are (2) loops per location, a total of 4 strands per location. No chain or cables allowed.
Hoods:
All cars must have a hood! No exceptions.
1. The entire Hood must open for inspection.
2. Must be in stock location.
3. You are allowed (6) total hood bolts in any configuration. The core support bolts count as hood bolts if they come through the hood. No hood bolts bigger than 3/4” all thread is allowed. (1) 3” x 3” x 1/4” plate per hood bolt location. Plate must be on the top side of the hood.
4.Firewall hood bolts cannot connect to the frame in any way.
5. Hood must cover the entire fan area.
6. There must be a hole big enough in the hood for a fire extinguisher to be used in case of a fire.
Body Bolts:
1. All body bolts are allowed to be changed to 3/4” all thread or bolt and cannot be longer than 8 inches long.
All body bolts or all thread must be straight vertical rod only, no bends or angle pieces. All body 2. bolts must have the factory rubber bushing or a 1” body spacer of some sort per location changed. Spacers cannot be any larger than a factory body spacer size (2”).
3. Only the front two at the core support may run up through the hood as body bolts.
4. Absolutely no welding allowed to mount body bolts.
5. Body bolt locations cannot connect to another body bolt location.
6. No welding the spacers to the frame!
7. Must be secured with stamped washers and nuts. All washers and nuts on the bottom side must be inside the frame not across the bottom of the frame.
8. The top of the body bolt inside the cab or trunk of the car may have (1) 3x3x1/4 plate to serve as a washer with (1) ¾” nut.
9. (2) pieces of ¾” all thread may run through the trunk. These may run through the frame being used as a body bolt or may run sheet metal to sheet metal.
Engine:
1. Engines must be 6 cylinder or smaller. No V8 engines!
2. Engines and transmission of choice otherwise.
3. May have headers.
4. May have carb conversions.
5. May have a simple carb protector that must stay between the headers and cannot strengthen the car in any way.
6. A lower engine cradle may be used for RWD cars. Must bolt to the block of the engine and can only be mounted using a factory oem rubber lower mount of some sort.
7. Only a simple cradle may be used.
8. No front or mid plates allowed. This is for mounting purposes only.
Transmission:
1. Crossmembers on RWD cars must be an OEM crossmember.
2.You can use a straight piece of 2”x2”x1/4” tubing and (2)- 2”x2”x1/4” x 6” long pieces of angle iron to set crossmember on.
(1) Side of the angle iron can be welded to the frame; you can only have (1) angle iron piece per side frame rail. If using angle iron, factory ears must be cut off the frame.

Suspension:
1. Built front struts are allowed.
2. They may be welded up, stuffed, and reinforced on the inside.
3. The upper and lower control arms and front wheel hubs must remain factory!
4. Upper a-arms may be welded down using (2) pieces of 2” x 3” x 1/4” strap per upper a-arm.
Rear Suspension:
1. Leaf springs must be of factory oem origin. May have a total of 7 leafs per side.
2. No flat stacks!
3. Must have 1” stagger between leafs on both sides of the spring.
4. (6) clamps per side of the car. Not to exceed 2”x4”x 1/4” thickness flat strap and can use (2) 3/8” bolts per clamp.
5. Hangers must remain stock but 1” of the hanger can be welded to the frame per hanger.
6. Hanger and spring must bolt together. Springs cannot be welded together. Must pivot!
7. Leaf spring hangers must be in stock location. No short stacks or moving hanger from the side of the frame!
8. Coil spring cars may double the rear coils.
9. May have 1 3/8” chain per side to set and adjust the ride height.
Wheels and Tires:
1. 15” wheel and tire or smaller may be run.
2. Wheels may have a small 8” multi center.
3. No full center and no bead locks.
4. May have a 1” lip guard and a valve stem protector.
5. May run solid tires on the rear of FWD. NO FOAM filled.
Rear Ends:
1. Any OEM 5 lug rear end may be run on RWD cars.
2. Rear Ends can have a back brace only. Brace not to exceed 2”x4”x1/4”. Brace must be 4” away from the axle flanges. This is the only bracing allowed! Rearend cannot reinforce the car in any way. No solid rear axles on FWD.
3. No full braces, no axle savers etc.
4. Pinion brakes are allowed. Must work.
5. Slider driveshafts are allowed.
Repair Plates:
1. No plates on fresh cars!
2. Plates for pre-ran cars: (2) 4”x6”x1/4” per rail.
