This past weekend 5 of our Aces had the opportunity to perform in the 2026 Albemarle Band Clinic.

The ABC is a two day clinic where both Middle School and High School ensembles are conducted by a special guest clinician. Students participate after being specially selected and invited to the clinic, and finish the weekend with a concert from music they begin rehearsing on day one.

This year, you may have seen quite the familiar face in front of our High School group; Mr. Lynn Dale!

Our students, and the students from neighboring counties shared an experience like no other under the direction of a local legend! Our students had an absolute blast, and even found time to grab some ice cream down in Kill Devil Hills, NC.

Thank you to the clinic host and ABC membership for a wonderful weekend of music!

We are proud to share that our JAH Concert Band received a rating of “Excellent” at our annual Adjudication (MPA) trip!

These students kept their focus through the semester even with the loss of almost a month of rehearsal time when transitioning to the new building and pushed our group up a level from last year!

Please celebrate these hard-working Aces for their huge accomplishment and perseverance through our challenges. These students showed what it means to be an ACE in Elizabeth City today!

Our Marching Aces are starting preparations for our next Marching Band Season and of course, the PEANUT FESTIVAL!

This year, the Peanut Festival and Battle of the Bands will take place on October 3rd, 2026.

This week, the Band took some time to show our love and appreciation for all that you do! Thank you for always greeting our students with a smile and starting them off on the right foot for class. Many of our drivers take on multiple roles here on campus, too! Our Aces are high-achieving both staff and students!!
