Help Save Wisconsin Indie Venues Affected by COVID-19

Hello,
We thank you for always being such a great supporter of The Metro. These have been trying times for everyone, and your continued support means so much to us.
We’re a part of the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), which was formed to try to save independent venues and promoters across the country. We were the first to close and will be the last to fully reopen.
Without support from Congress, 90% of NIVA’s independent venues, festivals & promoters across America say they will be forced to close their doors forever. Congress will be voting THIS MONTH, so we need your help NOW. Go to www.SaveOurStages.com to send a letter to Congress. The form for the letter is already filled in, you just have to add your name. It takes less than 30 seconds.
Without inclusion in the next stimulus bill, this might be the last chance for your favorite independent venues, festivals and promoters. Tell your reps that life support for independent venues and promoters must be included.
Even if you’ve written once, please make your voices heard now, it’s quick, easy and free. Ask your legislators to support and cosponsor S. 3814/H.R. 7481, the RESTART Act, introduced by Senators Young and Bennet in the Senate and Representatives Golden and Kelly in the House, which would ensure the survival of independent venues, festivals and promoters across the nation.

Checking in with everybody this evening!

To all the community members and friends who have reached out- thank you. It has been truly moving to see the support from everyone in the Chippewa Valley. This has been an extremely difficult time, so hearing all the positive things these last few weeks has been incredible.

We have a long road ahead. Inspections, construction, assessments, and old fashioned elbow grease are all in the immediate future.

Many of you have already heard about these changes- but we wanted to make a general post as well. We hope you will support these fantastic community events in their new locations.

We are happy to report that Decadent Cabaret is on- and has relocated to Brickhouse.

The O'Claire Craic (Eau Claire's 2nd Annual Celebration of Irish Music and Culture) has been moved to our sister location, The Plus.

The 2nd Annaul O'Claire Craic (pronounced "crack"- which is Irish language for "fun" or "party") has been moved to The Plus due to our fire this week. All tickets already purchased for the event will be honored- start time has been adjusted for the just the entertainment portion of the evening, and not for the market preceding the show.

People of Eau Claire and The Chippewa Valley,

We have already received many messages of support regarding the smoke and fire department on the scene at The Metro this evening, and we wanted to make sure to reach out.

First of all, and most importantly- no one was hurt.

Over the next few days, we will be assessing the situation. We will do everything we can to make sure all events scheduled at The Metro move forward.

Please check back for updates later this week, and thank you so much for your support.

We have faith that The Metro will be better than ever.
