My name is Bonnie. I am an artist, creative & an intuitive. I am from Western Mass and moved to the Seacoast
of NH & ME when I was in my 20's. While living in Portsmouth, I worked a lot in all kinds of media and digital marketing. I learned marketing, website development and SEO. I found a love for event planning. I took a trip to Ireland and stayed in a castle. Our tour guide took us to a farm where the farmer moved his cows so we could go into the Fairy Glen. All I can say is that I Believe! I could feel them. That feeling stayed with me and when I got home to the Seacoast of NH. The Fairy Festival was born! Ten years later it is still going on. You never know when life is going to throw you a curve and while in NH, I fell down the stairs and got hurt badly. After several surgeries later my family thought it was best that I come home to Western Mass so I would have the support I needed. I settled in Easthampton, and it took some time to get to this part of the journey. My body may not be the same, but I have my spirit back which led me to bringing the FAIRY FESTIVAL home. A Fairy Festival is a fun, happy and magical event. It takes work and lots of help will be needed. I know Easthampton will step up and already the response has been crazy. My friend Thelma who I recruited right away said. "Bonnie, keep it small, it is only the first one." My response? Go big or go home! Thus the "I BELIEVE." Don't we all need a little of that in this world? So, what is the vision for the Easthampton Fairy Festival? Magical Element #1 To beat the Guinness Book of World Records of the most people dressed like fairies in one location. Current record 878. A goal of 1000 would work. Check. Magical Element #2. Get the best areas performers, dancers, mystical mystics, theatrical, magical musicians and more. Put that together for all to enjoy. Magical Element #3. The Fairy House Tour. Weekends prior to the festival, workshops are held to build the little fairy houses which must be built with all natural materials. No need to participate in the workshop if you want to try building on your own, Families can build, businesses can build, organizations can build and submit a fairy house. And my favorite? The Artist Invitational where we put a call out to area artists to submit a Fairy House creation. Anyone who wants to build a magical abode can submit a Fairy House for the Tour. Then in the wee, wee early morning hours of the festival all the fairy houses created & entered will be placed on a path and a tour will be created. Where? We don't quite know that yet, but I BELIEVE. Magical Element #4 Great food and vendors selling and hawking their wares. And finally Magical Element #5. The sound of laughter, contagious smiling, happy bellies, a magical day held by all. I BELIEVE. Getting There We Need Your Help. All Kinds of Help! We have some surprises; we cannot discuss just yet. But we are going to need help to pull this off. ALL KINDS OF HELP. Until we get a website created, if you want to help by volunteering, performing or vending here is the process we need everyone to follow. We are so excited that there has been so much interest regarding the Fairy Festival. The response and interest have been overwhelming to say the least. It is over a year away and we are working behind the scenes to get big things in place and set up so we can bring in the committee to work with us from there. If VOLUNTEERING, include if you want to volunteer the Day of the Festival or Do you want to participate from the beginning on the team creating it, or do you want to do both? (We will be starting to meet in September, and the festival is about a year away. No date yet but will have it soon) Let us know.
