Introducing 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 🔎🗺️💎

This is not just a sensory class. It’s a brand new 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 where kids become Junior Explorers and complete themed missions through sensory play, storytelling, clues, codes, teamwork, and hands on fun.

Each quest will have its own mystery to solve, missions to complete, a passport to stamp, pizza dinner, and a treasure reward at the end.

Our very first quest will be revealed 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 and there will only be 𝟭𝟰 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.

Does your child seem to constantly CRAVE movement… or avoid certain sounds, textures, and busy places altogether? 👀

You may be seeing sensory seeking or sensory avoiding behaviors and understanding them can completely change the way we support our kids 🤍

✨ Sensory seekers often:
• jump, crash, spin
• touch EVERYTHING
• seek messy play
• struggle sitting still

🌧 Sensory avoiders may:
• cover their ears
• avoid certain clothes/textures
• get overwhelmed in crowds
• dislike messy hands or loud places

And here’s the important reminder:
A child can be BOTH.

They aren’t “bad,” “dramatic,” or “too much.”
Their nervous system may just be processing the world differently.

Understanding sensory needs helps us respond with connection and support instead of frustration 🤍

Our May field trip to was FULL of magic, animals, giggles, and memory making 🐐✨🌾

We fed so many adorable animals, watched the CUTEST baby goat nurse from her mama 🥹, saw an amazing magic show, and even attempted to feed Freckles the giraffe… but apparently she wasn’t very hungry today 😂🦒

The kids each got a stuffed piggy + snacks, we explored, played, laughed, and honestly had the BEST time together. We didn’t get to do the train ride OR the dinosaur exhibit which just means one thing… we definitely need to go back 🦖🚂💛

These trips are becoming one of my favorite parts of Sensory with Savannah because it gives families the chance to connect, explore Long Island together, and create meaningful experiences outside of the classroom setting.

I’m SO excited to continue bringing more field trips for all ages and experience all the fun LI has to offer together 🫶

📚🐻 Brown Bear, Brown Bear Book Club Recap!

Today we sang, moved, and brought Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? to life during interactive story time! 🌈✨

Our simple water play invitation with a brand-new sensory duck was a HUGE hit! 🦆💦 We kept it intentionally open-ended so little ones could sort, squeeze, splash, imagine, and explore in their own way while enjoying side-by-side play.

We also danced with scarves, popped bubbles, got our wiggles out, and enjoyed animal crackers as our themed snack! 🫧🎶🐘🦁

Simple play, big learning, and lots of smiles that’s what Book Club is all about! ❤️

Perfect little learners, each class gives kids the chance to mix, scoop, spread, sprinkle, create, and explore food in a fun, hands-on way. 💖

These classes are all about learning through play while supporting fine motor skills, confidence, independence, sensory integration, social skills, and creativity. Plus, open play is included! 🌟
