The Michigan Horse Expo is one of the top three-day horse exhibitions in the country. 2023 will mark the 40th Anniversary of the Michigan Horse Expo and the 50th Anniversary of the Michigan Horse Council. The Expo has something for you to enjoy whether you are a horseless horse lover, a new horse owner, or a seasoned professional. Mare owners have the opportunity to view stallions of different br

eeds from around Michigan on “Stallion Alley”. There are dozens of clinics, seminars and educational events conducted by Michigan’s top horse professionals as well as top horse professionals from around the country. There are more than 200 vendor booths providing excellent shopping opportunities for both you and your horse, and over 300 horses that represent over a dozen breeds! If you still aren’t impressed, how about the thrilling action of the Michigan High School Rodeo Association’s Friday Night Rodeo, the Michigan Horse Council's 1st Annual Mounted Police Uniform Competition, Extreme Cowboy Challenge Saturday afternoon, Mane Event on Saturday Night, Church Service, Plus More! We are also proud to have the Michigan Mounted Police Presentation of the Colors, along with the Great Lakes Horse Power Hour and Equine Highlight Hour showcasing the magnificent horses each day.

Our Story

The Michigan Horse Expo is one of the top three-day horse exhibitions in the country.

The hours for this year's Expo, including the Vendor Area are: Friday from 10 am until 7:30pm, Saturday, March 7th from 9 am until 7:30 pm and Sunday, March 8th from 10 am until 4:00 pm. The High School Rodeo is Friday night from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. The Mane Event (which requires a SEPARATE TICKET) is Saturday night from 7 pm to 9 pm. See the website schedule for detailed times of all events. Per MSU policy, no dogs or pets are allowed in the MSU Pavilion unless it is a licensed service animal.

It is now held at the Michigan State University Livestock Pavilion in East Lansing, Michigan. It has been going strong since 1984 and this year 2020 we hope you help us celebrate our 37th year!
