For several years, Team of Dreams has been a favorite event for baseball fans and Field of Dreams admirers. The staff behind the event at Travel Dubuque have plans to continue Team of Dreams in the years to come. However, we don't have plans to host this event in 2022.

While we'd love to gather Labor Day weekend, many amazing things are happening in the weeks before what would be Team of Dreams weekend.

We are excited to watch the second Major League Baseball game at the Field of Dreams take place on August 11, 2022. During that time, Beyond The Game - an Iowa Baseball Experience - will be taking place August 11-12 in downtown Dyersville just minutes from the field. We are involved in planning these events, which may just include a few of your favorite activities from Team of Dreams.

We hope you'll stay tuned to what is being planned for Beyond the Game 2022 and enjoy what the folks behind Team of Dreams have in store. ⚾️

It’s happening! 🎟️ Public lottery registration will open tomorrow for the Thursday, August 12th MLB at Field of Dreams Presented by GEICO. MLB announced the lottery will be available exclusively to residents of Iowa starting Friday, July 16th through Friday, July 23rd.

It's time to share that Team of Dreams will not be back in 2021 due to concerns over portions of the event that have been hampered by the COVID pandemic.

We can't wait to see you in 2022 and share the love of baseball. Until then, we hope you are able to safely visit the Field of Dreams Movie Site, If You Build It Exhibit, or Beyond The Game this spring and summer. ⚾️🇺🇸

Full Statement from Team of Dreams & Beyond the Game:

Team of Dreams, held annually at the Field of Dreams Movie Site, will not be held in 2021 due to concerns over portions of the event that have been hampered by the COVID pandemic. Team of Dreams is anticipated to be held again in 2022 with dates to be announced next year.

“Understandably, many of the players, talent, and entertainment we bring in for Team of Dreams are holding off booking events like ours over concerns of the ongoing COVID pandemic,” stated Keith Rahe, President & CEO of Travel Dubuque. “However, there are things we can do safely and responsibly to allow people to enjoy the rich baseball traditions we have in the area. One of those is hosting Beyond the Game this August surrounding the excitement of the August 12, 2021 Major League Baseball game between the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees. We believe we can host a safe event that takes COVID policies and safety practices into account as we move ahead.”

Beyond the Game, an Iowa baseball experience presented by Travel Iowa & Midwest One Bank, is going forward with a line-up of events to take place August 11-12, 2021 in Dyersville, Iowa and throughout Dubuque County. A movie night, outdoor concert, and more is being planned with input from area health professionals and leaders to develop a COVID conscious environment. More details and information on these events will be announced as planning progresses at beyondthegameiowa.com.

Visitors and community members are also invited to explore the “If You Build It Exhibit” dedicated to the making of the movie that put Dyersville on a worldwide stage. The exhibit, located in Dyersville, will be opening for its second year starting May 1, 2021. More details can be found at ifyoubuilditexhibit.com.

Team of Dreams, held annually at the Field of Dreams Movie Site, will not be held in 2020 due to concerns over COVID-19.

Organizers were originally planning around the highly anticipated Major League Baseball game in Dyersville but as decisions around the 2020 MLB season were impacted by COVID-19, so was planning for the annual event.

“It’s unfortunate that we couldn’t welcome the thousands of fans who make the journey to Team of Dreams year after year,” said Keith Rahe, President & CEO of Travel Dubuque, the organization who hosts the event, “However, for everyone’s safety and due to public health concerns, we will not be planning for a 2020 event.”

2020 would have been the 6th year for the annual Team of Dreams event held in Dyersville at the iconic Field of Dreams Movie Site.
