Celebrating the holiday season and Durham's diversity, AADE’s annual Kwanzaa celebration is a time to enjoy family, community, and culture. Kwanzaa itself is a seven-day African holiday that celebrates a different principle each day. AADE’s event takes place on the seventh day of Kwanzaa, which is dedicated to Imani, or faith. There will be food, dancing, face painting, drum and dance classes, a marketplace, and drumming performances.

Honoring community, gratitude, and the spirit of Kwanzaa — thank you, Food Lion Feeds, for helping AADE open doors and uplift families at the 41st Kwanzaa Fest.

Through Food Lion Feeds, they have donated the equivalent of 1.5 billion meals and have committed to doubling our efforts, reaching a total of 3 billion meals by 2032 to support those in communities who are food insecure.

They are passionate about helping to solve hunger today while investing in and honoring those who work toward ending hunger tomorrow.

The African American Dance Ensemble is excited to announce our upcoming 41st Kwanzaa Fest Celebration on January 1, 2027, at the Historic Durham Armory and we would love for you to be part of this vibrant cultural event.

Kwanzaa is a time to honor African heritage, unity, and creativity. Our celebration will feature music, dance, art, food, and activities for all ages — and we’re inviting vendors to share their products, services, and talents with the community.

Event Details:

📅 Date: January 1, 2027

📍 Location: Durham Armory located at 212 Foster Street Durham, NC 27701

🕒 Time: Doors open at 12 pm and Performances begin at 2:00pm

Vendor Benefits:

· Connect with a diverse and engaged audience

· Showcase your products or services in a festive setting

· Support a meaningful cultural celebration

· Gain visibility through our event promotions

Vendor Fee: $100 per table

Today we remember the life of Baba Chuck Davis.

We didn't know that morning, God was going to call your name, in life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, this day that God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you're always at our sides.
