🍂 It’s officially Blacktober, and I stopped by to get a taste of what’s brewing for this year’s celebration.

From crisp ciders to their Blacktoberfest harvest ale (crafted in partnership with Dirtbag Ales), everything I tried was smooth, flavorful, and full of the community energy that defines this brand.

If you haven’t heard, Proximity Brewing Company is once again at the center of Blacktoberfest™, a festival that brings together Black-owned and BIPOC collaborations across beer, food, art, and entertainment.

Mark your calendars: October 18th in Garland Court, Old East Durham.

You can expect 20+ breweries and collaborators, 6 Black-owned wine and spirits brands, local food trucks, and live performances all celebrating six incredible years of culture, craft, and connection.

Whether you’re a true beer lover or just here for the vibe, this is the East Durham block party you don’t want to miss.

We’re gearing up for another incredible event and have a few volunteer spots to fill. Whether you’re new to the craft beer industry or a seasoned beer aficionado, we need you. Yes, YOU!

Volunteers must be 21 and older and there may be some lifting and standing for extended periods of time. Your ID must match the name on the volunteer application. You must have a completed application on file to volunteer.

Blacktoberfest™ is powered by Black-owned and BIPOC collaborations, blending culture, community, and craft beer in Durham. With our brewery and taproom now in full swing, we’re ready for another unforgettable year of festivities—and we want you there.

Garland Court in Old East Durham is the official home of Blacktoberfest™, as we celebrate six incredible years of this movement. This year’s festival features 20 breweries and collaborators, plus six Black-owned wine and spirits brands. Add to that 30 vendors, food trucks, and a full entertainment stage, and you’ve got the makings of an East Durham block party you won’t want to miss.
