this event will be partnered with the 2025 Bull Bash on Old 66 (August 9th in Edgewood NM 5k added) the Bull rider with the most points after both events will win a $1,000 bonus! (Must enter both events to be eligible)
Winner will also receive a paid entry to the WildThing Championship Bullriding (10k added) July 11th and 12th

The first rodeo of the season going on now without a hitch! 🤠🐎

A huge thanks to True Western Roundup, their incredible team, and partners at the La Plata County Fairgrounds and Event Center. I introduced myself to every vendor, volunteer and patron. We want to thank the incredible maintenance crew for making it all happen!

As the new Fairgrounds Manager, I’m proud to support our community and event partners in every event, big or small. I’ll be at all of our events this year and look forward to connecting with everyone.

La Plata County Fairgrounds and Event Center has generators working for now. Let's hope for the best for LPEA and getting power restored in Durango.

Update at 4:35 PM: Today’s outage was caused by an issue at the Bodo Substation during planned system work being performed by a co-tenant of the substation, which also disrupted communications needed to restore service remotely.

Update at 4:09 PM: All meters have been restored. When the cause for the main outage has been determined, we will provide an update. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Update at 3:30 PM: Fort Lewis College has been restored. Crews are currently working on a downed line at Trimble Springs, where approximately 1,500 meters remain out of power. This downed line is not suspected to be the cause of the large outage, just the Trimble Springs area.

Update at 3:17 PM: Crews are still investigating the cause. Power has since been restored to ~7,524 meters.

Crews are en route to investigate Trimble Springs and Fort Lewis.

At 1:56 PM, LPEA members are experiencing a power outage in the Durango area, affecting 11,556 meters. Crews are responding and working to restore power. The details about the cause and length of the outage are unknown at this time. We will provide updates as they come.
