The PNW Regional Chili Cookoff is happening THIS WEEKEND — September 12 & 13 at the Wahkiakum County Fairgrounds.
Come hungry for championship chili, St. Louis ribs, wings and Live Fire cooking. Check out the vendors, cast your vote for People's Choice and enjoy a beautiful corner of Southwest Washington.
Even better, you'll be supporting an event that's helping its local community following the devastating apartment fire in nearby Cathlamet.

🔥 HEY PITMASTERS AND CHILI COOKS — THIS ONE'S FOR YOU! 🔥
If you're not quite ready to put away the smokers and competition gear, our friends at the PNW Regional Chili Cookoff have another opportunity waiting September 12–13 in Skamokawa!
Competitions include:
🌶️ Traditional Red Chili
🌶️ Homestyle Chili
🌶️ Verde
🌱 Vegetarian
🍖 St. Louis Ribs
🍗 Wings
🔥 Live Fire
And these aren't just bragging-rights competitions. Depending on participation and category, winners can earn advancement opportunities connected with major chili championships, the Rib Cookoff Association and Memphis in May.
There will also be People's Choice and Best Booth awards.
BBQ DuPont was fortunate to have a wonderful group of cooks join us in DuPont this year. We'd love to see some familiar faces head west and support another Washington cooking competition.

Road Trip to Skamokawa Thursday September 3rd
Our BBQ may be over, but BBQ season isn't!
Looking for a great Washington road trip?
Head to Skamokawa September 12–13 for the PNW Regional Chili Cookoff at the Wahkiakum County Fairgrounds.
They're bringing the heat with:

🔥 Live Fire competition
🛍️ Vendors and a “Hot House” featuring sauces, rubs, seasonings and spices
🏆 People's Choice and Best Booth awards
And there's plenty of reason to make a weekend of it. Wahkiakum County is one of Washington's little treasures—with the state's only operational covered bridge, the lower Columbia River car ferry, beautiful scenery, camping and lodging nearby.
Some of our friends from the BBQ world will be there, and BBQ DuPont is happy to help spread the word.

Our friends with the PNW Regional Chili Cookoff are getting ready for a big weekend of chili, BBQ and Live Fire competition September 12–13 at the Wahkiakum County Fairgrounds in Skamokawa.

This year, their event has taken on an even more important purpose.

On Monday, August 24, a devastating apartment fire struck nearby Cathlamet. Cindy and the organizers of the PNW Regional Chili Cookoff are helping support people in their small community who were impacted by the fire.

Those of us at BBQ DuPont know what can happen when cooks, volunteers, businesses and neighbors come together for a good cause. So, we're asking our BBQ friends to help us spread the word.

Come enjoy some great food. Support the competitors. Visit the vendors. Make a weekend of it—and help a Washington community that could use some neighbors right now.
