To show our appreciation for those that volunteered and some that did instead of riding the event, we invited them to ride a 44 mile “after event” bike ride with us today. Six were able to join us.
To avoid getting caught up in Dunlap days we started in Princeville at the park, headed out past Edelstein and enjoyed a halfway break at the Clydesdale Cycling club, “Stable“. Always appreciate the welcome we get there.
Heather lead the ride and I was in the SAG vehicle.
Another IVW volunteer, Randy Swenson, brought some goodies for the “cooldown” after. Great weather and a great time. Hats off to our volunteers.

SAG Runners (Support and Gear) part 2…
Glenn Firme, Becca Senneff and Steve Fitzanko.
We had three remote rest/food stops. Glenn and Becca, the IVW president, delivered all the food and supplies and water to the Clydesdale Cycling club Friday night while I was out marking routes with my wife. I was supposed to do that.
Saturday morning Glenn got there just after 5 AM and loaded the last remaining items and organize the U-Haul that you saw parked at the church. He and I drove it to Princeville with Steve Fitzanko behind us… This is something I’ve always done with Isaac Grimm but it became obvious that my focus was needed elsewhere, especially with the knowledge of signs being pulled. Steve gave me his car keys and let me drive back to Dunlap.
Steve and Glenn continued on to Wyoming and for the rest of the day resupplied the food/rest stops, delivered the water bottle coolers to strategic intersections.
Many riders are in your debt, Glenn and Steve!

SAG Runners (Support and Gear) part 1…
Every year that I’ve been involved, Joe Russell from Russell's Cycling & Fitness Center in Washington has allowed us the privilege of having expert and seasoned Technician, Kevin Thieme, use the bike shop van to sweep the routes and be on call for on the road fixes AND hauling bikes and riders back if needed. And he is tireless and doesn’t ask for a lot.
I need to add that Kevin was like my roving reporter: calling me on things that were going on on the routes that needed our attention and also “swept it” at the end to make sure that the riders were back safely!
Thank you, Kevin AND Joe!!!!!

Route Marking Part 2 and 3
Huge thanks to these Sticker AND Sign-Wielding Knights
As you know, rain was forecast, I made an executive decision to put the stickers on yard signs. That’s 4x the work since it includes picking up the signs afterwards and risky as we learned. Thank you Signs Direct for the order! I found smart ways to counter wet roads since so we’ll leave upright signs only for hazards and waypoints moving forward.

So who are these amazing Sticker-Wielding Knights who stepped up and kept you on course? Literally!
Randy Swenson, Suzanne Wheeler, Bonnie Martin, Jim McIntyre, Laverne Wilson, Walt Klypachak, Beth & Ken Seckler and my BFF, Debbie Wilkinson. Donating their time and energy and gasoline!
Sign removal: Randy Swenson (alone on Sunday) and also Jim, who assisted me.
And Ken and Beth Seckler who together after marking over 200 miles in two days apparently thought they hadn’t done enough… 😉 (which included moving a route to avoid a poor road surface and marked it accordingly). They then pulled signs on Sunday for as many if not more miles!
My hat is off for ALL these Knights!

The Route Marking and Un-marking Team’s Efforts …. Part 1 of 3
While unmarking the 55 mile gravel route last night, took a few minutes to enjoy the scenery and by the last image you can see too much time was spent looking ‘outside’…. just made it to Casey’s in Princeville 🙏
In parts 2 and 3 I’m going to share about the amazing efforts of a few Knights Wielding Stickers….

Huge thanks to Matt Heberer and Wayne and Cheryl Harkness for the efforts at the Princeville Rest Stop!!! Matt was kind enough to take some pics from the day!
Thank you Matt also for following us to Dunlap to help us clean up and load everything back in the truck!

A BIG shout out to Clydesdale Cycling for hosting the rest stop in Chillicothe and staffing it (see image). The 45, 65 and 100 mile riders were treated to tables and chairs out of the sun, a big cooling fan, great food, chats with seasoned riders and lots of smiles.
On that note… their club’s big event is approaching. They sponsor the most amazing event in late September…. The Cycledelic Endurance Challenge benefitting St. Jude’s.
I was a part of it last year and absolutely blown away by the whole thing. Serious devotion to the cause by the riders, organizers, volunteers and… the mission moments that left most folks speechless.
Check it out, get a team together and get involved for a seriously worthy cause!

What a day!

The 2026 No Baloney Bicycle Ride wouldn't have been possible without an incredible group of people who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to make it happen.
