We had a productive Dunbar Festivals Committee meeting today!

During today's meeting, we voted on some changes to our committee structure and leadership positions. We had anticipated having this discussion after the Fall Festival, and today we were able to work through those changes together.

For the most part, these are simply title changes. Everyone is continuing in the roles and responsibilities they've already been handling, with the addition of a Chair and Vice Chair position. The biggest change is that we've added another voting position to the committee, which will be held by our Secretary.

Our updated committee positions are:

⭐️Chair & Financial Liaison: Rachel Harper

⭐️Vice Chair & Vendor Lead: Leah Edens

⭐️Secretary (New Voting Member): Nicole Rowe

⭐️City of Dunbar Liaison: DaVontae Edwards

⭐️Public Relations: Erick Haynes

We also want to remind everyone that our public meetings are open to all community members! You don't have to hold a committee position to have a voice. We welcome community volunteers, encourage everyone to share their thoughts and ideas, and genuinely value the feedback we receive.

Some of the best ideas come from the people who attend, volunteer, and support our events. We may not always be able to put every suggestion into action, but that doesn't mean it isn't heard or considered.

At the end of the day, we're all working toward the same goal: bringing great events to Dunbar and continuing to make them better for our community.

📣 Want to get involved? Come join us!

Our next Dunbar Festivals Committee meeting will be Wednesday, October 14th, at 5:00 PM at Dunbar City Hall.

Whether you've volunteered with us before, have ideas you'd like to share, or are just interested in learning more about what we do, we'd love to have you!

We're looking forward to what's ahead and hope to see some new faces at our next meeting! ❤️

🍂 Dunbar Fall Festival After-Action Meeting 🍂

The Dunbar Festivals Committee will be holding an informal after-action meeting today to look back at this year’s Dunbar Fall Festival.

We’ll be talking about what worked well, what we enjoyed, areas where we can improve, and ideas to make future festivals even better.

Festival volunteers and members of the community are welcome to join us and share their feedback and experiences. This is an informal discussion only — no voting or formal committee business will take place. We will also select a date for our next formal committee meeting.

🍂❤️ WHAT A FINISH, DUNBAR! ❤️🍂

The Dunbar Fall Festival has officially come to an end, and we could not have asked for a better way to close out the weekend.

To everyone who came out, brought your families, supported our vendors, danced, sang along, volunteered, shared our posts, participated in activities, or simply spent part of your weekend with us — THANK YOU.

To our Dunbar Festival Committee, volunteers, City Council members, Dunbar Parks & Recreation, the Mayor, the City Clerk, our vendors, entertainers, community partners, and everyone who helped behind the scenes: this weekend happened because of all of you.

Seeing our community come together made every meeting, phone call, late night, early morning, and month of planning worth it. We are incredibly grateful for the support you showed this festival and our city. 🍁

And now… the countdown begins. 👀

🎉 362 DAYS UNTIL THE NEXT DUNBAR FALL FESTIVAL! 🎉
