Step inside one of Downtown Duluth’s most magnificent spaces - the Moorish Room by Black Woods.
Originally known as the Spanish Room, this one-of-a-kind space is located on the Superior Street Level, just off the Plaza. It was later renamed the Moorish Room in honor of the architectural style that flourished in Spain and Portugal between the 13th and 16th centuries. Its soaring arches and ornate embellishments are the same features that make this room so magical today.
Original hand-painted details from 1925 still adorn the walls and ceilings, offering a beautiful glimpse into the days when the space served as the Hotel Duluth’s dining room.
Tucked into the west corner is a stunning vintage-style bar with its own Hollywood history. Although it isn’t original to the hotel, the bar was built for the Moorish Room’s appearance in the 1994 film Iron Will.
Rich in history, character, and timeless beauty, the Moorish Room is truly one of Downtown Duluth’s most unforgettable spaces.
