The Portal has been open for almost a year — and in many ways, it has grown quietly.

Through word of mouth.
Through aligned conversations.
Through people walking in and immediately understanding what this space is for.

I haven’t had to promote the private suites much.

But lately, I’ve been feeling called to make the invitation clearer.

Some of my favorite moments aren’t the big events.

They’re the 20-minute lunches.

Today Tyler stopped by The Portal between assignments during his internship with the County Public Health Department. We shared a sandwich, caught up on his morning, and then he was off again—heading back out into the community for inspections, mosquito trapping, and whatever the afternoon had in store.

Watching him step into this season of life has been one of my greatest privileges.

And I realized something…

When I imagined creating The Portal, I pictured strategy sessions, leadership conversations, and community gatherings.

I never imagined it would also become the place where my son would stop in for lunch on an ordinary Wednesday.

Those simple moments might end up meaning the most. ❤️
