Registration is now open for Christmas at the Homestead. Stop by the Current River Heritage Museum, Doniphan Missouri to sign up. Thats the only way to do it. Also check out our Amazon Wishlist from the original post, if youd like to help provide the crafts and goodie bags from Santa for the kiddos.

Good morning! I am currently working on an Amazon Wishlist for items needed for this event. Items include stuff for goodie bags, party supplies, decorations and more. If you would be interested in helping our event out, I will share the list link in the comments section.

The photo below is from our event 2 years ago. As you can see a lot of time and effort goes into making it as magical as possible for the kids.

Each child is provided 3 crafts to do while there, a photo with Santa which is printed right there so they can take it home, they usually get some kind of keepsake cup/item, plus the food and drinks that are provided.

Make sure to check out our Sweet Treat Trail Saturday. Show our local businesses some love and shop local. These are the businesses that support all our local activities, help them out in return.

Saturday will be here before we know it! If you are planning to attend please comment below with how many children will be with you and their first names if you don't mind.

Heres a run down of activities you can expect Saturday during Christmas at the Homestead.

Cookie Decorating thanks to Mrs. Georgia Klinger for donating 100 cookies for the kids to decorate.

Various craft stations some of which include reindeer food, ornament making, painting, and more.

A special viewing of The Polar Express with hot chocolate and popcorn.

Santa will be there to visit with the kids as well. I have Santa Lists for the kids to make out as well. Mention Jingle Bells to me and I will make sure the list is available for a parent to pickup or view.

A big thank you to Doniphan Ripley County Library for supplying books for children attened the event.

Thank you to Ozark Federal Credit Union of Doniphan for donating towards the children's goodie bags from Santa as well.

Remeber Jammies aren't required but encouraged.

Good morning, we are still hoping to gather a few more train sets as well as Christmas trees to use this Saturday. We would just need to borrow them for the event then they would be available to be picked back up Sunday or Monday.

If you are interested in helping with our event, we have a few items we need, these can be donated or funds can be donated to purchase items.

🍿Popcorn packets for a popcorn machine
🍽Table cloths, we typically use plastic ones designed for rectangle tables. We need about 10 red, 10 green, and 10 white.
🎄 Christmas plates and cups
☕️Coffee for our adults
🥤Juice boxes for any kids thay aren't fans of hot chocolate
🍪 Christmas treats such as cookies, candy cane's, Christmas candies etc for kids young and old to snack on
❄️Hot glue sticks for the mini hot glue guns

2 large sturdy pallets, our large Christmas tree will be set on these to help elevate it behind Santa.

Some sort of Santa Chair, I will share pictures in the comments.

An electric fireplace, this is a loan only item as we do not have a place to store it. Picture in comments.

I'm looking for several train sets, preferably working but not working is okay too. These can be loaned, we will label your items and return them to you.

Christmas trees, these are another loan item. I would label all trees so they were returned.

Join us for an evening creating sweet Christmas memories with your family.

November 30, 2024 4 to 6 PM
DONIPHAN COMMUNITY CENTER

We outgrew the school house and decided to try something new this year.

This is a free event for children. Everyone will get a chance to make some crafts, enjoy tastry snacks and watch Christmas movies.

Oh, and I can't forget the best part.....SANTA will be there!

So come on out in your favorite Christmas Jammies (they're encouraged but not required) and spend the evening with us. We will finish out the night with the Kickoff to Christmas Comes to Doniphan. Mr. And Miss Merry Christmas Winners will be announced, there will be caroling and more so don't miss out!

We are on the hunt for Christmas Mugs! If you have any you'd like to donate message us or drop them by the Current River Heritage Museum, Doniphan Missouri or Current River Fabrics & Quilting

I'm hoping to get enough that all the kids that attend Christmas at the Homestead can use a special hot chocolate mug that they can then take home after visiting with Santa.
